Art on the East End continues to enliven with exhibition receptions, talks, tours and screenings. On Friday, Peconic Land Trust teams up with LongHouse Reserve and Madoo Conservancy for a series of free tours. The Parrish opens a new exhibition of Chuck Close photographs with a Reception and Talk on Sunday for museum members only. The show opens to the general public on Monday. WHITE ROOM GALLERY - “Grand Gallery Opening” takes place on Saturday from 6 to 8 p.m. The work of Eric Ernst, Jim Gingerich and Sally Breen will be on view. ALEX FERRONE PHOTOGRAPHY GALLERY - “Spring Into Collecting” has an Opening Reception on Saturday from 6 to 8 p.m. The exhibition remains on view through June 6. The preseason group exhibit features ten regional photographic artists. During the exhibition the gallery will be working with the AFYA Foundation to collect supplies to help with relief efforts for the people of Nepal. GUILD HALL - “National Theatre Live Presents The Hard Problem” takes place on Friday at 7 p.m. The new play by Tom Stoppard is directed by Nicholas Hytner. Admission is $18, $16 for members.

“Museum Mondays at Guild Hall: Executive Director’s Choice with Ruth Appelhof” takes place on Monday from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Executive Director Ruth Appelhof will lead a discussion around selected works in the Artist Members Exhibition, on view through June 6.

PARRISH ART MUSEUM - “Salon Series: Pianist Yoonie Han” takes place on Friday at 6 p.m. This will be the final concert of the museum’s spring “Salon Series.” Admission is $20, $10 for members.

Behind the Bottle: The Rise of Wine on Long Island Talk and Wine Tasting with Author Eileen Duffy” takes place on Saturday at 2 p.m. Admission is $10, free for members or with book purchase.

“Chuck Close Photographs” has a Members’ Reception and Talk on Sunday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The exhibition remains on view through July 26. The show presents around 90 images spanning 1964 to the present, ranging from straightforward black and white portraits to large-scale, composite Polaroids to intimately scaled daguerreotypes. The Members’ Reception features an introductory talk by exhibition co-organizer and Parrish Director Terrie Sultan at 11 a.m.

“Guided Tour of the Permanent Collection” takes place on Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. The docent-led tour features highlights from the seven permanent collection galleries.
