Guild Hall is switching things up a bit for the 2015 Artists Members Exhibition. Registration for this year's open call museum show is online only. This means don't wait for the mail to arrive with the registration package. Instead, visit the museum's website and start clicking to apply.  (Those wanting paper registration must request it by calling Guild Hall at 631-324-0806 or visiting the museum's website.)

Registration for Guild Hall's 77th Annual Artists Members Exhibition is now open and continues through April 20, 2015. Late entries will be accepted through drop off dates (April 24 and 25) but artists will not be listed in the exhibition's Artist Checklist so the earlier the registration the better. There is a $40 fee for entry. Click here to enter.

All artists submitting work must be a member of Guild Hall. Membership is available for an individual ($45 or $30 for seniors).

Guild Hall's 77th Annual Artists Members Exhibition will be held May 2 through June 6, 2015. Artworks will be judged by Marla Prather, curator in the Department of Modern and Contemporary Art at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City.

“Marla Prather's credentials in the world of modern and contemporary art are nearly unparalleled, and her work over the last two decades has produced over 30 publications," said Christina Mossaides Strassfield, Director/Chief Curator of Guild Hall Museum. "She is considered by many to be the foremost authority on Alexander Calder, Ellsworth Kelly, Willem de Kooning, Robert Mangold, Bridget Riley, and Lucas Samaras."

Prather career has taken her to work in museums around the globe. Her career began at the National Gallery of Art in Washington, DC before moving to a Curator of Postwar Art at the Whitney Museum of American Art (1999–2004). Prather then moved to a term as Curator for American Art at London’s Tate Modern (2005–2007) before being named to her current position as Curator in the Department of Modern and Contemporary Art at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

Winner of the Top Honor receives a solo show in Guild Hall's Spiga Gallery.

Awards are also bestowed for Best Representational Painting, Best Abstract Painting, Best Sculpture, Best Work on Paper, Best Mixed Media, Best Photograph, the Catherine and Theo Hios Landscape Award and the Best New Member Artist. Honorable Mentions are typically awarded as well. Many works are available for sale.

Guild Hall Members Exhibition is the oldest non-juried museum show on Long Island and is one of the few non-juried exhibitions still offered.

For 77 years, Guild Hall Museum has reserved space in its exhibition schedule for the Guild Hall Artist Members Exhibition. Artists, representing every level of development, enter to underscore their support for the museum and its dynamic role in the community as a museum, theater and educational arts center. For many, it is an annual tradition whether they have won awards or not. Many Top Honors winners continue to enter each year.

The exhibition typically features around 450 artists. Installation design will be by Christina Mossaides Strassfield, Director/Chief Curator of Guild Hall Museum. This year's show is being organized by Sophie Chahinian, Interim Assistant Curator/Registrar/Lewis B. Cullman Associate for Museum Education.

“This is a wonderful opportunity for local artists to exhibit in an accredited museum,” said Chahinian.

Hamptons Art Hub is a proud media sponsor of the 2015 Guild Hall Artists Members Exhibition.

"Guild Hall's Artists Members Exhibitions has always been one of my favorite events of the season," said Pat Rogers, publisher of Hamptons Art Hub. "The show has a knack for drawing the East End artist community together to celebrate art and artists in a unique way.
