Happy Holidays! It's a quiet one for the visual arts on the East End. Both art museums are open so contemplative times can be spent with the art on view. Poetry readings and film screenings are among the cultural options for the weekend.
GUILD HALL MUSEUM is open this weekend on Friday and Saturday from 11 am. to 5 p.m. and on Sunday from noon to 5 p.m. On view is "New Additions to the Guild Hall Museum Permanent Collection 2010-2014" and "Mary Ellen Bartley: Leaning Above the Page". BLUE DUCK BAKERY CAFÉ - "Poetry Street Open Mic" takes place on Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. This series of "Open Mics" is the spoken word project of Susan Dingle for the East End Arts' JumpstART program. The "Open Mics" are hosted by Susan Dingle and Robert "Bubbie" Brown. Poets, comedians and storytellers are invited to sign up at 1:30 PM. WESTHAMPTON BEACH PERFORMING ARTS CENTER - "Finest in World Cinema Series: CitizenFour" screens on Friday at 7:30 p.m., Saturday at 4 and 7:30 p.m., and Sunday at 4 p.m. The film by Laura Poitras features a series of meetings with Edward Snowden.
