New group shows continue to open in the Hamptons this weekend, allowing for plenty of options for holiday gift-giving. One exception is a solo show by Dennis Lawrence, which has an Artist Reception on Saturday. Also on tap for this weekend are lectures, exhibition tours, a poetry reading event, an endurance performance open house and more. Following is the list of options for art and culture in the Hamptons this weekend.


SYLVESTER & CO - “Dennis Lawrence: New Works” has an Artist Reception on Saturday from 5 to 8 p.m. The exhibition remains on view through February 1, 2015. Sylvester & Co at Home is located at 154 Main St, Amagansett, NY 11930.

BRIDGEHAMPTON ARCHIVES – “2014 Holiday Gift Show” continues on Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The show is on view on Saturdays and Sundays in December from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Ceramics by local artists will be on view. The Bridgehampton Archives are located at 2539-a Montauk Highway, Bridgehampton, NY 11932.


GLENN HOROWITZ BOOKSELLER - "Holiday Reception with Paton Miller" takes place on Sunday from 1 to 5 p.m. "Paton Miller: The Edge of the World" remains on view through December 31. Glenn Horowitz Bookseller is located at 87 Newtown Lane, East Hampton, NY 11937.

GUILD HALL - "Free Holiday Open House" takes place on Saturday from noon to 4 p.m. Visitors are invited to tour the museum, eat holiday cookies, and drink cider. Guild Hall is located at 158 Main Street, East Hampton, NY 11937.

THE DRAWING ROOM - "Winter Salon" opens with a Holiday Reception on Saturday from 4 to 6 p.m. The show includes contemporary and historic works on paper by over 35 artists. See the gallery's website for details. The Drawing Room is located at 66 Newtown Lane, East Hampton, NY 11937.


JEDEDIAH HAWKINS INN BARN GALLERY - “Let’s Talk Israeli Cuisine with FIlmmaker Roger Sherman” takes place on Sunday at 5 p.m. Sherman will show a clip of his new film in development The Search for Israeli Cuisine. He will discuss his experience traveling in Israel with Chef Michael Solomonov to make the film. Afterwards, there will be a dinner featuring recipes from the Chef’s upcoming cookbook. Dinner is $75 a person and includes tax and tip. Jedediah Hawkins Inn Barn Gallery is located at 400 South Jamesport Ave, Jamesport, NY 11947.


WOLFFER ESTATE VINEYEARD - “Celebration of Light: Holiday Poetry at Wolffer” takes place on Wednesday from 5:30 to 7 p.m. in Wolffer Vineyards Main Tasting Room.  The non-denominational celebration includes local mulled wine, fresh Wolffer wines, food, and original poetry from New York and East End poets. Featured readers include Kate Rabinowitz, L. Lukas Ortiz, Kevin Hageman, Emma Macwhinnie, and host, Tyler Armstrong. Admission is $10 at the door. CANIOʼS BOOKS - “Landscapes: Real & Imagined” has a Meet The Artists Discussion on Friday from 5 to 6 p.m. The exhibition remains on view through January 5, 2015. The show includes works by Pamela Collins Focarino, Pat Moran, and Kathryn Szoka. Canioʼs Books is located at 290 Upper Main Street, Sag Harbor, NY 11963.

ROMANY KRAMORIS GALLERY - “Small Artworks Holiday Invitational” has a Reception on Saturday from 3 to 5 p.m. The exhibition remains on view through January 18, 2015. SHINNECOCK MUSEUM - “Winter Arts & Crafts Festival” takes place on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. The event will feature live dance and musical performances, an art market and demonstrations, food and children’s activities. The event is free, donations are welcome. The Shinnecock Museum is located at 100 Montauk Hwy, Southampton, NY 11968.


PARRISH ART MUSEUM - “Dolls and Mannequins at Play in Contemporary Art” Discussion takes place on Saturday at 11 a.m. The talk will be given by artist Eric Fischl, curator and Sotheby’s North and South America Chairman Lisa Dennison, Child Psychiatrist Robby Stein, and Collector and Founder of The FLAG Art Foundation Glenn Fuhrman. The discussion coincides with the exhibition Disturbing Innocence curated by Fischl at the FLAG Art Foundation. The event is free with museum admission.

“Guided Tour of the Special Exhibitions” takes place on Saturday from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. The docent-led tour features highlights from Steven and William Ladd: Mary Queen of the Universe and Alan Shields: In Motion. The tour is free with museum admission.
