Art exhibition receptions, film screenings, author readings, curator talks and more are on the list for this weekend's art and culture choices. Artists on Film: Discovery film series launches on Friday at the Pollock-Krasner House and the Autumn ‘Finest in World Cinema’ Series at Westhampton Beach Performing Arts Center continues. New exhibitions have opening receptions across both Forks and benefit parties continue. Following is this week's list to help plan your art weekend on the East End.

AMAGANSETT 

THE AMAGANSETT LIBRARY - “Solo show by Susan Schrott” has an Opening Reception on Saturday at 6 p.m. Schrott will give a presentation titled “Triple Threat: Actress, Psychotherapist, Artist.” Schrott’s hand-dyed and thread-painted textile artwork will be featured in the exhibition. PIERREʼS RESTAURANT - "When the Day Awakes" by Dell Cullum has an Opening Reception on Saturday from 3 to 6 p.m. The exhibition remains on view through October 1. ALEX FERRONE PHOTOGRAPHY GALLERY - “Bare” by Ann Brandeis and Michael Edelson has an Opening Reception on Saturday from 6 to 8 p.m. The exhibition remains on view through October 12. A portion of sales will benefit The Retreat Domestic Violence Services. EAST END HOSPICE - “Box Art Auction 2014″ takes place on Saturday at the Ross School’s Center for Well Being in East Hampton. Tickets start $75 and be purchased by clicking here. GUILD HALL - "Gallery Talk - Robert Motherwell: The East Hampton Years, 1944 - 1952" takes place on Sunday at noon. The talk will be led by Guest Curator Phyllis Tuchman. POLLOCK-KRASNER HOUSE AND STUDY CENTER - “Artists on Film: Discovery” begins Friday at 7 p.m. with experimental shorts by artist/filmmaker Anita Thacher. A discussion will follow the screening. SOUTH STREET GALLERY - “Four Women: Works by Nancy Ness, Joan Stevens, Helen M. Weinstein and Amy Worth” has an Opening Reception on Saturday from 5 to 7 p.m. The exhibition remains on view through September 29. Ness will show both pastels and oils of the East End landscape. Stevens will show plein air oils and figure studies. Weinstein will show abstract oil works using organic shapes. WESTHAMPTON BEACH PERFORMING ARTS CENTER - “Autumn ‘Finest in World Cinema’ Series” continues on Friday with Richard Linklater’s Boyhood. The film will screen on Friday at 7:30 p.m. and on Saturday and Sunday at 4 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $15 for adults, $9 for students/seniors, and $5 for WHBPAC Film Society Members.
