HAMPTONS, NY-

Art openings, a film festival and special events all unfold on the East End this weekend. Worth noting is the Take 2 Documentary Film Festival in Sag Harbor and a benefit of small works of $100 each in Greenport. Following is this week's list of where to find new art exhibitions and cultural events in the Hamptons and the North Fork.

AMAGANSETT 

CRAZY MONKEY GALLERY - “Nature’s Song” by Joyce Silver and “Small Works” members’ show have an Opening Reception on Saturday from 5 to 7 p.m. The exhibitions remain on view through Dec. 29. Joyce Silver will be showing an installation of abstract trees titled “Enchanted Forest” made from cardboard tubes, paint, and other materials. She will also be showing plein air pastels. The gallery is located at 136 Main Street, Amagansett, NY 11930. www.thecrazymonkeygallery.com.

GREENPORT   

SOUTH STREET GALLERY - "10 x 10 = 100" art show and sale benefiting the North Fork Environmental Council takes place this weekend. Previews begin on Friday from noon to 6 p.m. The Reception and Sale takes place on Saturday from 6 to 8 p.m. Each artwork is 10 x 10 inches and sells for $100. Remains on view through Dec. 30. QUOGUE

QUOGUE LIBRARY –  “The East End Photographers Group 11 x 14 Holiday Exhibition” has an Opening Reception on Saturday from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. The exhibition remains on view through Jan. 2. The show will feature small works of traditional, digital, and alternative photography. The library is located at 90 Quogue Street, Quogue, NY 11959. www.quoguelibrary.org.

RIVERHEAD

RIVERHEAD TOWN HALL GALLERY - “Solo Show by Kasmira Mohanty” opened yesterday and remains on view through March 4, 2014. Mohanty will exhibit paintings created in classical and digital media. The gallery is located at 200 Howell Avenue, Riverhead, NY 11901. www.eastendarts.org.

SUFFOLK COUNTY HISTORICAL SOCIETY - “3rd Annual Wooden Wonderland” takes place on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The wood carvers’ holiday show and sale features handmade objects by local craftspeople as well as woodworking and carving demonstrations. Admission is free. The Suffolk County Historical Society is located at 300 West Main Street, Riverhead, NY 11901. www.schs-museum.org.

SAG HARBOR

TAKE 2 DOCUMENTARY FILM FESTIVAL presents screenings and special events beginning tonight and running through Sunday at Bay Street Theatre. The festival presents 22 films which includes five art-related films. For details, visit "Hamptons Take 2 Documentary Film Festival Returns for its Eight Edition".

WATER MILL

WATERMILL CENTER - “Cynthia Hopkins: A LIVING DOCUMENTARY” will be presented on Saturday at 4:30 p.m. The comedic work documents the trials and tribulations of trying to make it as a professional theater artist. The presentation will be followed by a conversation between the artist and Carla Peterson, the Artistic Director of New York Live Arts. Watermill Center is located at 39 Watermill Towd Road, Water Mill, NY 11976. www.watermillcenter.org.
