EAST END, NY-

Art openings, a poetry reading, a photographers' talk, art openings and more unfold this weekend on the North and South Forks. Here's this week's list of where to find art and culture on the East End.

AMAGANSETT 

ILLE ARTS GALLERY - “Holiday Show” has an Opening Reception on Saturday from 5 to 7 p.m. The exhibition remains on view through Jan 15. Featured artists include Monica Banks, Christine Sciulli, Max Blagg, Christa Maiwald, Tracy Harris, Alex Markwith, and others. NEOTERIC FINE ART - “Poetry Reading” takes place tonight (Thursday) at 7 p.m. Local poet Tyler Armstrong hosts the poetry reading which is curated by Scott Bluedorn and sponsored by independent poetry publisher Hunt & Light. Featured poets are Scott Chaskey and L. Lukas Ortiz. Also reading are local poets Lindsay Jean Elitharp, Malik Solomon, Ivo Tomasini, and Randy Hendler.

Chaskey is a poet, farmer, and educator who has worked the land for the Peconic Land Trust at Quail Hill Farm in Amagansett for a quarter century. Ortiz was born in Colombia, South America and has a BA in Sociology and Literature from Stonybrook University.

CUTCHOGUE 

ALEX FERRONE PHOTOGRAPHY GALLERY - “Alterations Gallery Talk with Photographers Sandi Daniel and Carolyn Conrad” takes place on Sunday at 11 a.m. Daniel will speak about the alternate realities and fragility of nature in here Gold and Gesso on Vellum limited edition series. Conrad will discuss her minimalist approach to her Handmade Object rural scenes limited edition series. Both photographers are on view in the current gallery exhibition, “Alterations.” The exhibition remains on view through Dec. 15. GREENPORT   

EAST END ARTS with PECONIC LANDING - “The North Fork Premiere Indie Film Showcase” continues with “The Hunt” by Thomas Vinterberg, screening on Nov. 23 at 7:30 p.m. “Midnight’s Children” screens on Dec. 21 at 7:30 p.m. Admission to each film is $10. Peconic Landing is located at 1500 Brecknock Road, Greenport, NY 11944. www.PeconicLanding.org. GREENPORT HARBOR BREWING COMPANY - “Randee Daddona: Through the Looking Lens” has an Opening Reception on Saturday from 7 to 9:30 p.m. The exhibition remains on view through Jan. 20. Local photojournalist Randee Daddona will exhibit photographs of North Fork sights that invite viewers to connect with their own North Fork memories. MONTAUK

OUTEAST GALLERY - “Scott Bluedorn: Theo Blue” has an Opening Reception on Saturday from 7 to 10 p.m. The exhibition remains on view through Jan. 1, 2014. On view will be paintings, drawings, prints, and found object assemblages. SAG HARBOR

GRENNING GALLERY – “Holiday Show” has an Opening Reception on Saturday from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. The exhibition features new work by Sarah Lamb, Joe Altwer, Daniel Graves, Greg Horwich, Michael Kotasek, Kevin McEvoy, Kanin Sanders, and introducing Maryann Lucas. RICHARD J. DEMATO FINE ART - “New Work” and “ART Home for the Holidays of 15-30% savings” have an Opening Reception on Saturday from 6 to 8 p.m. The exhibitions remain on view through Dec. 24. The first floor features new works by gallery artists. The second floor presents a selection of works offered with special pricing. SHELTER ISLAND
