A quick sampling includes the launch of a new film series, a classical music concert, cutting edge contemporary art meets historic objects and American Gothic manifests itself in paintings by contemporary artists. ALMOND RESTAURANT - “Artists and Writers Night” takes place on Wednesday at 7 p.m. The three course dinner is hosted by Janet Goleas, curator of The Moby Project. HOTEL INDIGO EAST END - “Live on the Vine Winterfest Preview Show” takes place on Friday from 7 to 10 p.m. The six-week music festival runs through Mar. 16 at various vineyards, hotels and other venues across the East End. SUFFOLK COUNTY HISTORICAL SOCIETY - “Back to the Future: Contemporary Artists Consider the Permanent Collection” has an Opening Reception on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. The exhibition remains on view through Nov. 23. Artists include Cara Barer, Rob Carter, Judith Condon, Elizabeth Duffy, Ketherine Frey, Susan Hoeltzel, Keith Long, Judy Richardson, Donna Sharrett, Karen Shaw and Andy Warhol. PECONIC LANDING - North Fork Premiere Indie Showcase – Film Screening of “Letters to Jackie: Remembering President Kennedy” on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $10 and can be purchased at 631-477-BLUE or www.peconiclanding.ticketleap.com.
