The pace has quickened in the Hamptons art scene! artMRKT Hamptons and ArtHamptons provide extra places to see art this weekend. Both fairs opened last night with party previews and continue through Sunday. The Parrish's summer benefit takes place on Saturday night with art and fun times part of the plan. Following is the complete listing of where to find new art events, exhibitions and happenings this weekend.
THE ART BARGE - “Artists Speak: Peter Selz” takes place on Wednesday (July 17) at 6 p.m. Selz was the Chief Curator of Painting and Sculpture, Museum of Modern Art, 1958-1965, the Founding Director of UC Berkeley Art Museum, 1965-1995, and Professor Emeritus of the University of California, Berkeley. artMRKT Hamptons opens today at 11 a.m. and continues through Sunday. The art fair features contemporary and modern art from 40 galleries. It is presented on the grounds of the Bridgehampton Historical Society, 2368 Montauk Hwy, Bridgehampton, NY 11932. Parking is free. www.art-mrkt.com/hamptons. ArtHamptons opens today at 11 a.m. and continues through Sunday. The art fair features contemporary and modern art from over 70 galleries. It is presented at Nova’s Ark Project, 60 Millstone Rd at Scuttle Hole Rd, Bridgehampton, NY 11932. Tickets range from $25 to $250. www.arthamptons.com.

PETER MARCELLE GALLERY - “Dina Merrill & Friends” has an Opening Reception tonight (Friday) from 6 to 8 p.m. Participating artists include Virginia Burke, Lucy Cookson, Miriam Dougenis, Lynn Hanke, Ted Hartley, Bonnie Lowe, Aniik Libby, Dina Merrill, Michelle Murphy, and Alice Connick Ryan. ASHAWAGH HALL - “Midsummer Mix” has an Opening Reception on Tuesday (July 16) from 4 to 7 p.m. Participating artists include Barbara Bilotta, Johanna Caleca, Lance Corey, Anna Franklin, Annette Heller, Robin Howe, Alyce Peifer, Sal Salandra, Dainis Saulitis, Catherine Silver, RIchard Udice, and Elizabeth Weiss. POLLOCK-KRASNER HOUSE AND STUDY CENTER at Guild Hall- “John H. Marburger lll Memorial Lecture” takes place on Sunday from 4 to 5 p.m. at Guild Hall’s John Drew Theater. QUOGUE LIBRARY – “Found: Recent Work by Holland B. GRENNING GALLERY – "Latest Works: Ramiro and Melissa Franklin-Sanchez" has an Opening Reception on Saturday from 6 to 8 p.m. Ramiro is known for his figurative paintings. Sanchez is known for her works on copper plates. A collaborative dual portrait is also on view. FLOWERS AT THE GREENERY - “All Summer” by Patricia Feiler has an Artist Reception on Saturday from 4 to 6 p.m. Feiler will exhibit landscape paintings of Long Island summer scenes.
