The East End art scene continues to pump with new exhibitions opening this weekend. Here's where to find what's new in the Hamptons art scene and on the North Fork.
AMAGANSETT
CRAZY MONKEY GALLERY - “Group Members Show” opens today (May 3) and has an opening reception on Saturday from 5 to 7 p.m. Featured artists include Jana Hayden, Jim Hayden, Ellyn Tucker, and Robert Tucker. Also on view is work by member artists Tina Andrews, Barbara Bilotta, Beth Barry, Daniel Dubinsky, Lance Corey, Katherine Hammond, Cathy Hunter, June Kaplan, Andrea McCafferty, Sheila Rotner, Daniel Schoenheimer and Mark E. BRIDGEHAMPTON
PIERRE’S RESTAURANT - “Solo show by Dick Hubner” has an opening reception on Saturday from 3 to 6 p.m. Hubner will exhibit new acrylic on canvas paintings. The show remains on view through May 29. The restaurant is located at 2468 Main Street, Bridgehampton, NY 11932. www.pierresbridgehampton.com
EAST HAMPTON/SPRINGS
ASHAWAGH HALL - “Mixed Media Plus” has an opening reception on Saturday from 5 to 8 p.m. Participating artists include Ronnie Grill, Gene Samuelson, Nadine, Lance Corey, Alyce Peifer, Frank Sofo, Anna Franklin, Elizabeth Weiss, Anne McAlinden, Laura Benjamin, Catherine Silver, Ann McNamee and Ursula Thomas. QUOGUE LIBRARY – “Without Words - Paintings and Collage by Marion Jones” has an artist reception on Saturday from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. Jones paints abstractly with acrylics on watercolor paper or canvas. REMSENBURG ACADEMY - “Windows to the Sea” by Barbara Bilotta opens today. An Opening Reception will be held next Saturday, May 11, from 5 to 8 p.m. The solo show presents abstract acrylic and resin paintings from Bilotta's “Underwater Series.” The show remains on view through May 19. SARA NIGHTINGALE GALLERY - “Two Men” by John Jonas Gruen and paintings by Gus Yero has an opening reception on Saturday (May 4) from 6 to 8 p.m. John Jonas Gruen will exhibit photographs and sign his book, which depicts photographs of men interacting in an intimate way, leaving the nature of their relationship up to interpretation by the viewer. Gus Yero will exhibit abstract paintings with experimental composition, shape, scale, and pattern influenced by the landscape of Sedona Arizona.
