It's a sparse weekend for art openings on the East End. Luckily, all the new shows seem like strong ones.
BRIDGEHAMPTON
JULIAN BECK FINE PAINTINGS GALLERY - An exhibition featuring a trio of artists has an opening reception on Saturday from 5 to 7 p.m. Exhibiting are Marilyn Church, Alexander Russo and Roz Cole. The show runs through Nov 30. The gallery is located at 2454 Montauk Highway, Bridgehampton, NY.

SOUTH STREET GALLERY - “Plein Air Peconic VII” has an opening reception on Saturday from 5 to 8 p.m. The show features art by Plein Air Peconic. Exhibiting artists include Casey Chalem Anderson, Susan D'Alessio, Aubrey Grainger, Anita Kusick, Michele Margit, Gordon Matheson, Joanne Rosko, Eileen Dawn Skretch, Tom Steele, Kathryn Szoka, and Ellen Watson. 4 NORTH MAIN GALLERY - "The Good Life Series" by Susan Cushing has an opening reception on Saturday from 5 to 8 p.m. The show remains on view through Sunday. The stylized paintings capture slices of "the good life" of casual elegance. Many of the works conjure a certain type of Hamptons summer. What a wonderful eclectic nature inspired exhibit at ArtSites. Arts and ecology meet, and also a little bit of antiquity being celebrated, something for everyone. I want to see more of this type of exhibit on the North Fork.
