"Plein Air Peconic VII" will be held from September 21 to October 22, 2012 at South Street Gallery in Greenport, NY.

"Plein Air Peconic VII" is an annual exhibition and sale of paintings and photographs of East End Landscapes featuring land conserved by the Peconic Land Trust. The exhibition is being held at The South Street Gallery, 18 South Street, Greenport, NY.

Opening Reception:  Saturday, September 22 - 5:00 to 8:00 p.m.

Coffee with the Artists: Sunday, October 14 - 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

The paintings and photographs in "Plein Air Peconic VII" feature landscapes of the beautiful East End including properties conserved by the Peconic Land Trust. Some of the preserved North Fork locations in this show include Dam Pond in Orient, Kujawski Barns in Jamesport and Reel Point in Shelter Island. The group has spent the last year working on the North Fork to capture vistas preserved by the Peconic Land Trust.

Plein Air Peconic members exhibiting in the show are Casey Chalem Anderson, Susan D'Alessio, Aubrey Grainger, Anita Kusick, Michele Margit, Gordon Matheson, Joanne Rosko, Eileen Dawn Skretch, Tom Steele, Kathryn Szoka and Ellen Watson.

Plein Air Peconic is a group of 12 painters and photographers based on the East End of Long Island. The artists are devoted to capturing the beautiful vistas of farmland, beaches and bays in their work. They have partnered with the Peconic Land Trust to bring a heightened awareness of conservation by displaying and selling their work.

"Plein Air Peconic VII" marks the seventh year of working together and showcasing their local landscape exhibitions in museums, galleries and non-profit venues throughout the East End.

The exhibition features two receptions with the artists. A Wine and Cheese Reception will be held on Saturday, September 22 from 5 to 8 p.m. to open the show. A Meet the Artists Coffee will take place on Sunday, October 14 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

"Plein Air Peconic VII" remains on view through October 22, 2012.

Proceeds from art sales will be donated by the artists and South Street Gallery to benefit the Peconic Land Trust.

The Peconic Land Trust was established in 1983 to conserve Long Island's working farms and natural lands. Since its inception, the nonprofit Trust has worked with landowners, communities, partner organizations and local government to conserve 10,000 plus acres of land on Long Island.  While working to conserve the productive farms, watersheds, woodlands and beachfront of Long Island, the Trust is also protecting the unique rural heritage and natural resources of the region. www.peconiclandtrust.org.

The South Street Gallery is open daily from noon to 5 p.m. through September 30. Afterwards, the gallery will be open Thursday through Monday from noon to 5 p.m.
