DISPATCH - SEPT 04, 2012 (9:35 p.m.)

BRIDGEHAMPTON, NY

The historic barn was an unusual place for a video installation. Well-worn tools, tractor parts, hay bails and a practical floor never faded into the background but remained on common footing with a three-screen video installation and two video still exhibits from what comes around - a fleeting installation capturing cloaked moments by Jill Musnicki of Sag Harbor, NY.

what comes around is comprised of three-screen video installation of nearly 100,000 still images captured by motion-activated surveillance cameras that were placed through the East End. The exhibition is punctuated by two exhibitions of stills taken by the stop-motion camera and the equipment Musnicki used to create the works.

what comes around will be presented at the Engine Barn at the Bridgehampton Historical Society on Aug 18 and 19, 2012. An opening reception was held on Friday (Aug 17) from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

The installation is part of the Parrish Road Show, an off-site creative summer series unfolding in August. Two Hamptons-based artists were invited to interpret the East End and create work for a site-specific installation.

Following is a look at some of the artwork and objects that comprised Musnicki's project. what comes around captures quiet moments that unfold in natural or secluded spots in the Hamptons:
