AMAGANSETT 

NEOTERIC FINE ART - “Hybridized” has an opening reception tonight (Friday) from 6 to 9 p.m. The reception includes music by Mr. Pockets, DJ Yata, and Olde Sake plus a poetry reading by Malik Solomon. KARMA - "A Real Slow Drag" - Book signing by Adam McEwen will take place on Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. The book is published by Marianne Boesky Gallery. BRIDGEHAMPTON

PARRISH ROAD SHOW at THE BRIDGEHAMPTON HISTORICAL SOCIETY- “what comes around" - solo show and installation by Jill Musnicki” has an opening reception tonight (Friday) from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. in the Engine Barn. The show remains on view through Sunday. The museum is located at 2368 Montauk Hwy, Bridgehampton, NY. http://parrishart.org

EAST HAMPTON/SPRINGS 

ASHAWAGH HALL - “Springs Invitational Curator’s Tour” takes place on Saturday from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. The exhibition talk and tour is led by Christina Mossaides Strassfield, Museum Director and Chief Curator for Guild Hall Museum. Free. The Springs Invitational remains on view through Sunday. Artwork sales benefits the Springs Improvement Society (SIA), Ashawagh Hall and the SIS’s Scholarship Fund. Ashawagh Hall is located at 780 Springs Fireplace Rd, Springs, NY. www.ashawagh-hall.org

ART WALK HAMPTONS - Will hold a self-guided and curator-led tour on Saturday from 5 to 8 p.m. An opening reception begins at 5 p.m. at Vered Art Gallery (68 Park Place). HARPER'S BOOKS - “Kazuo Kitai: Barricade” and “John Gossage: The Code” presents an exhibition opening and book signings for both photographers on Saturday from 6 to 8 p.m. The show runs through Oct 1. The gallery is located at 87 Newtown Lane, East Hampton, NY. www.harpersbooks.com.

THE FIREPLACE PROJECT - “Holy Crap!” has an opening reception on Saturday from 6 to 8 p.m. The show features artists Nate Lowman, Rob Pruitt, Dan Colen, and Piotr Ulański. The show runs through Sept 17. POLLOCK-KRASNER HOUSE AND STUDY CENTER at THE FIREPLACE PROJECT - “Men of Fire: Discussion by Sharon Lorenzo” takes place on Sunday at 5 p.m. Lorenzo will discuss how murals by Jose Clemente Orozco influenced Jackson Pollock. Admission is $5 or free for members of The Pollock-Krasner House. The Fireplace Project is located at 851 Springs Fireplace Road, East Hampton, NY. The exhibition is presented at The Pollock-Krasner House and runs through Oct 27. QF GALLERY - “She Sells Seashells by the Seashore" has an opening reception on Saturday from 5 to 8 p.m.  The group show is curated by Lance Kinz and Michelle Tillou of Kinz + Tillou Fine Art of NYC. The gallery is located at 98 Newtown Lane, East Hampton, NY. THREE TO SEE pic.

MONTAUK 

MONTAUK BEACH HOUSE - “Downtown Art” launches its first art show and its new exhibition spaces with a reception on Sat at 1 p.m. at the luxury resort. Both artists will give a talk at the opening. Michael Chiarello exhibits sculpture in four open-air locations. Mixed media works by Daniel Dens will be presented in the lobby. "Downtown Art" will present works by local artists in changing exhibitions, according to a press release. The art remains on view through Sept 16. REMSENBURG

THE REMSENBURG ACADEMY - “99 Embraces” by Gina Gilmour and Eberle Damron opens tomorrow and remains on view on weekends through Sept 2. The exhibition includes linoleum prints, drawings and works with fabric. Three improvisational concerts by The Hidden City Orchestra will be held on consecutive Sundays (Aug 19, Aug 26 and Sept 2) at noon. The music will interpret the art in the exhibition. The concerts are titled “Three Sundays, Ninety-Nine Embraces.” Admission is free. The Remsenburg Academy is located at 130 South Country Road, Remsenburg, NY.

SAG HARBOR

ART WALK HAMPTONS - Self-guided and Art Walk Founder-led gallery tour on Saturday from 5 to 8 p.m. An opening reception begins at 5 p.m. at The Grenning Gallery (17 Washington Street). A closing reception will be held at 8 p.m. at Dodds and Eder Sculpture Garden (11 Bridge Street). Free. For maps and information, visit www.artwalkhamptons.com.

GRENNING GALLERY – "Best of the Best" Closing Reception and “Demonstration by sculptor Chad Fisher” will be held on Saturday. SHELTER ISLAND

ARTISTS OF SHELTER ISLAND - “Open Studios” takes place Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The studios of 17 working Shelter Island arts will be open during the self-guided tour. Admission is free. For a studio listing, art examples and map, visit www.artsi.info.

SOUTHAMPTON

SOUTHAMPTON HISTORICAL MUSEUM - “Southampton Landscapes by Eileen Dawn Skretch” has an opening reception on Saturday from 4 to 6 p.m. The show runs through Nov 3. The exhibition is located at the Rogers Mansion, 17 Meeting House Lane, Southampton NY. www.southamptonhistoricalmuseum.org

PARRISH ART MUSEUM - "THE LANDMARKS OF NEW YORK" - An illustrated presentation by architect David Rockwell titled “Untold Stories from an Eclectic, Exceptional Practice” will take place on Thursday (Aug 23) at 6:30 p.m. A brief discussion with exhibition curator Barbaralee Diamonstein-Spielvogel immediately follows. This is the final exhibition program. Reservations are strongly recommended. Tickets are $5 for Parrish members and $10 for nonmembers. SOUTHOLD 

GRENNING GALLERY with SOUTHOLD HISTORICAL SOCIETY - “Plein Air Paintings, Here and Now” is the inaugural exhibition that launches a new building, a new gallery and a new collaboration between Grenning Gallery and the Southold Historical Society. The show opens on Saturday and runs through Oct 6. No public reception will be held. The Reichert Family Center and Cosden Price Gallery is located at 54127 Main Road (Route 25), Southold NY. The gallery is open Thursday through Saturday from 1 to 4 p.m. www.southoldhistoricalsociety.org

WATERMILL

CELEDON CLAY ART - “Invitational Member’s Show” has an opening reception on Saturday from 6 to 8 p.m. Exhibiting ceramists are Eve Behar, Shelley Marcus Sonenberg and Carey Lowell.
