In honor of the Hamptons art season kick-off, we've compiled an exhaustive list of the art openings happening over the Memorial Day Weekend. Think of it as an Art Opening Cheat Sheet to make your art travels easier.

The listing is divided geographically. Hamptons art openings are listed first, followed by Shelter Island, Riverhead and the North Fork. Opening Receptions by Day can be found at the bottom of the story.

SOUTHAMPTON

TRIPOLI GALLERY OF CONTEMPORY ART - "Frank Illusions - New Paintings by Lautaro Cuttica” opens on Sat from 5 to 8 p.m. The exhibition remains on view through Jun 18. The gallery is located at 30 Jobs Lane, Southampton. http://tripoligallery.com

SOUTHAMPTON ARTISTS ASSOCIATION - "Memorial Day Show" opens on Sat from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Southampton Cultural Center's The Levitas Center For The Arts. Over 125 artists are exhibiting. The show remains on view through Jun 3. http://southamptonartists.org

ARTHUR T. KALAHER FINE ART - Opens for the Season. No reception. Exhibiting Nahum Tschacbasov, Rolph Scarlett, Paton Miller, Whitney Myron Hubbard, John Crimmins and Thomas Cardone. WATER MILL

SARA NIGHTINGALE GALLERY -  “Justin West: End of an Error" and “David Byer-Tyre: Imported from Africa, Made in America" opens Sat from 6 to 8 p.m. The show is organized by Georgette Grier-Key. It remains on view through Jun 27. The gallery is located at 688 Montauk Hwy, Water Mill. http://saranightingale.com/ 

CELEDON GALLERY - "Members Show: Sandra Beaver, CC Bookout and Olivia August" opens Sun with a Brunch Reception at 11 a.m. The show remains on view through Jun 17. Sculptural ceramics by Beaver, Bookout and August. The gallery is located 41 Old Mill Road, Water Mill, NY. www.hamptonsclayart.org

MARK BORGHI FINE ART - "New Acquisitions" will be on view this weekend at the gallery. No opening reception. The show features recently acquired artworks. Artists include Helen Frankenthaler, Jenny Holzer, Frank Stella, Conrad Marca-Relli and more. The gallery is open Thursday through Monday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The gallery is located at 2426 Main Street, Bridgehampton. www.borghi.org

SAG HARBOR

MONIKA OLKO GALLERY - "Lilith" opens Sat from 7 to 9 p.m. A series of narrative photography by Rose Kouzoujian based on the Jewish folklore of Lilith (Adam's first wife). The show remains on view through May 28. TULLA BOOTH GALLERY - "Gallery Favorites Summer 2012" opens Sat from 6 to 8 p.m. The show remains on view through Jun 30. Featuring new photography by Lynn Geesaman, John Margaritis, Blair Seagram and Bob Tabor. Exhibiting photographer Stephen Wilkes is new to the gallery. ARTHUR T. KALAHER FINE ART - Opens for the Season. No reception. Exhibiting Nahum Tschacbasov, Paton Miller, Rolph Scarlett, Charles Levier and Scott Switzer through mid-June. ERIC FIRESTONE GALLERY - "The Haberdashery" opens on Sat from 6 to 9 p.m. The group show “plays off the concept of high-end men’s clothier…and the feeling of singularity, manner, style and success that it often engenders,” according to the gallery. DAVENPORT & SHAPIRO FINE ARTS - "East Hampton Belligerence" opens Sat at 5 to 8 p.m. The show remains open through June 16. The exhibition features the art of Eddie Rehm and Emanuel Buckvar. The gallery is located at 37 Newtown Lane, East Hampton. http://www.lsdart.com/

FIREPLACE PROJECT - "Video Lounge" opens the gallery's 2012 season. No opening reception. Videos by various artists will be screened on Sat and Sun from noon to 6 p.m. The exhibition remains on view through Jun 17. Curated by gallery owner/director Edsel Williams. Rotating art will be on view in a separate space in the gallery. Fireplace Project is located at 851 Springs Fireplace Road, Springs. www.thefireplaceproject.com

ASHAWAGH HALL - "The 29th Annual Springs Improvement Society Members Show" opens Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. Admission is $5 and goes towards the maintenance of Ashawagh Hall. The group show remains on view through May 28. THE ART BARGE - "Victor + Mabel = The Art Barge Couple" opens on Sun from 4 to 7 p.m. The exhibition features art, objects and mementos from the Victor D'Amico Studio and Archive. The Art Barge opened for the season on May 21. www.theartbarge.com

 

SHELTER ISLAND

BOLTAX GALLERY - "Jason Willaford's 'Signs of life'" opens Sat from 6 to 8 p.m. The exhibition remains on view through Jun 24. This is Willaford's second solo show at the gallery. His latest works are discarded billboards quilted into art. The gallery is located at 21 North Ferry Rd, Shelter Island. www.boltaxgallery.com

RIVERHEAD

ART SITES GALLERY- "Geometry of Color - Gabriele Evertz and New Work - Claire Watson" opens Sat from 5 to 7 p.m. The pair of solo shows remains on view through Jul 8. The gallery is located at 651 West Main St, Riverhead, NY. http://artsitesgallery.com

EAST END ARTS - "16TH ANNUAL COMMUNITY MOSAIC STREET PAINTING FESTIVAL" - EAST END ARTS on Sun from noon to 5 p.m. Watch murals made in chalk during a cultural street fair event. Also, the live art-making happening: "Shifting Reality Across Long Island." GREENPORT

Stirling Yoga Studio - "New Works: Deborah Ziegler: Artist/Photographer - Beneath the Surface/Series one and Diane Burke: Collage Artist" opens on Sat from 4 to 7 p.m. The show remains on view through Jun 10. EAST END SEAPORT MUSEUM & MARINE FOUNDATION - "Tattoo: Art of the Sailor" opens Sat to coincide with the arrival of seven Tall Ships and the Tall Ship Festival  to Greenport. The museum presents an exhibition on the history of tattoos related to Maritime. The museum is located on 3rd Street, Greenport. www.eastendseaport.org
