The six paintings in the gallery below represent an experimental approach to landscape painting. Colors and forms are derived from the natural unpopulated world and placed on the canvas. Experimentation begins, and continues until a visually pervasive quality arises for that canvas. Refinements are made until a unified image is achieved.
Ty Stroudsburg has lived in the Hamptons since 1962 and finds an inexhaustible supply of visual elements with which to work. Her work has been shown in many venues on Long Island, and is in the permanent collections of Guild Hall, The Long Island Museum at Stony Brook, and the Heckscher Museum, and many private and corporate collections.
