Artist Talks at the Parrish

The Parrish Art Museum presents two upcoming talks in the Museum’s Lichtenstein Theater featuring Parrish permanent collection artists.

Jessica Morgan with Mary Heilmann and Laura Owens” will be held on Thursday, August 24, 2017 at 5 p.m. and Clifford Ross in conversation with András Szántó” will be held on Friday, August 25, 2017 at 6 p.m.

Mary Heilmann will join a conversation with Dia Director Jessica Morgan and painter Laura Owens. Dia Art Foundation and the Parrish collaborated in the program with Morgan, Owens, and Heilmann, whose exhibition, “Painting Pictures,” is currently on view at Dia's Dan Flavin Art Institute, Bridgehampton. Tickets are $12 and free for Parrish and Dia members, students and children. Book Launch With Steve Miller at Harper's Books

The Hamptons book launch of Radiographic: X-Ray Photo Inventions takes place on Friday, August 25, 2017 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Harper's Books in East Hampton, N.Y.

Visitors are invited to join Steve Miller for the launch of his art book, Radiographic. Steve Miller's unique artistic process incorporates X-ray imagery with natural subjects to create complex representational and abstract images. Find out more about his work here.

Reading of Murder In Matera by Helene Stapinski at Canio's Books

Helene Stapinski will be reading from her new book Murder In Matera at Canio's Books on Saturday, August 26, 2017 at 5 p.m.

Best-selling author Helene Stapinski will read from her new memoir Murder in Matera: A True Story of Passion, Family and Forgiveness in Southern Italy. In the book, Stapinski delves into a century-old family mystery that combines suspenseful twists and emotional insights.

HENRY TAYLOR: A Documentary by Matthew Chambers 

“HENRY TAYLOR: A Documentary by Matthew Chambers” screens on Saturday & Sunday at 3 p.m. each day at RENTAL Gallery through August 27, 2017.

Over the course of several years, Matthew Chambers filmed his friend and fellow artist Henry Taylor through some of the most fertile and transitional years of his career. This intimate, vérité portrait of Henry Taylor offers the public a view into the professional, personal and philosophical life of an artist, through another artists' lens.

Parrish Road Show Reception With the Artists of the Auto Body Collective

A Public Reception for The Parrish Road Show takes place on Sunday, August 27, 2017 from 5 to 7 p.m. at The Parrish Art Museum.

The public is invited to meet members of the Bellport-based artist collective Auto Body. The reception takes place on the grounds of the Parrish Art Museum, the easternmost site of the Parrish Road Show Installation. Bevarages and light refreshments will be available.

For the 2017 edition of The Parrish Road Show, the group of artists and curators has created a series of road-side signs installed from Brookhaven to Southampton along Montauk Highway on the South Shore of Long Island. Click here for more information on the installation.
