BCMF Annual Benefit

Bridgehampton Chamber Music Festival presents the “Annual Benefit: Get in the Groove” on Saturday, August 5, 2017 at 6:30 p.m. The benefit will be held at the Atlantic Golf Club in Bridgehampton, N.Y.

BCMF’s annual benefit will feature music from American composer and fiddler Mark O’Connor, selections from Kenji Bunch’s Ralph’s Old Records (a work influenced by 1930s and ’40s big band and pop music), and Brahms’ Piano Quartet in G minor, whose “Gypsy Rondo” finale was inspired by the music of the Roma. Enjoy an evening of great music and food. The concert will begin at 6:30 p.m., with cocktails and dinner at 7:30 p.m.

Southampton Hospital's 59th Annual Summer Party

The Southampton Hospital presents the “59th Annual Summer Party” on Saturday, August 5, 2017 at 6:30 p.m. The benefit will be located under the air-conditioned tents at the corner of Wickapogue Road and Old Town Road in Southampton, N.Y.

Enjoy an evening of cocktails, dinner and dancing and a silent auction and raffle to benefit The Jenny and John Paulson Emergency Department. Groove Society will provide music, with catering and décor by Lawrence Scott Events.

 The Oysterponds Historical Society presents the “Summer Social” on Saturday, August 5, 2017 from 5 to 8 p.m. in Poquatuck Park in Orient Village, N.Y.

Montauk Playhouse Gala

The Montauk Playhouse Community Center Foundation presents the “2017 Gala: Celebrate the Art of Surfing” on Saturday, August 5, 2017 from 7 to 11 p.m. in Montauk, N.Y.

This year's event will celebrate the vibrant, authentic surf culture of Montauk. Local artists and activists who have captured the spirit of this surf town in their work will be honored. The Gala will feature a cocktail hour, seated dinner, musical performance, live and silent auctions. Musician Donavon Frankenreiter will headline the Gala. Honorees include: Tony Caramanico, legendary local surfer and artist, James Katsipis, renowned surf photographer, Evelyn O'Doherty, community activist and surf instructor and Peter Spacek, cartoonist, artist, and surfer.

The Gala supports the fundraising efforts of the Montauk Playhouse Community Center Foundation in its mission to construct a Cultural Arts and Aquatic Center in the Playhouse.

The Thomas Moran Trust presents the “Moran Studio Benefit Garden Party” on Saturday, August 5, 2017 from 6 to 8 p.m. in East Hampton, N.Y.

The Benefit Garden Party for the Thomas Moran and Mary Nimmo Moran Studio brings together art and landscape. Now in its final phase of construction, the benefit allows a close look at the renovated Moran Studio and gardens. The Garden Party helps raise funds for its completion and for an anticipated grand opening in June 2018.

Peconic Land Trust presents “Through Farms and Fields” on Sunday, August 6, 2017 at 4 p.m. The benefit will be held at Whitecap Farm in Water Mill, N.Y.

This year, the Trust honors the conservation dedication of Kathleen King with her brother Richie King as Master of Ceremonies. The annual summer benefit will be hosted by Evelyn and John L. Halsey along with Amy and Austin Halsey-Cohn and Jennifer and Craig Dupree. Festivities include supper by the chefs of Art of Eating, wines from Martha Clara Vineyards, music by The John Ludlow Trio, a special performance by Julia King and an auction.

Guild Hall Summer Gala

Guild Hall presents the “Summer Gala” on Friday, August 11, 2017 from 5 to 11 p.m. in East Hampton, N.Y.

Attendees of the Summer Gala will enjoy a private preview of the museum’s August exhibition “Avedon’s America” at 5 p.m. before moving to the home of Lucy and Steven Cookson for cocktails and a seated dinner beneath a festive tent. Afterward, guests will enjoy music by Yung Jake, dancing and an art auction. The Gala honors Bonnie Lautenberg and is hosted by artist April Gornik.

Charles A. Riley II, PhD, will speak about his latest book, “Free as Gods: How the Jazz Age Reinvented Modernism.” Mr. Riley is an art critic, author, professor and curator who is a frequent contributor for Hamptons Art Hub. He is the author of 28 books on art, architecture and public policy.

The Quogue Historical Society presents the “41st Annual Art Show Benefit” on Saturday, August 12, 2017 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Art show will be located on the Quogue Village Green and held rain or shine.

The 41st Annual Art Show & Sale will feature almost 40 artists, including many local artists, with proceeds benefiting the Quogue Historical Society.

East Hampton Library’s Authors Night

The East Hampton Library presents the 13th Annual “Authors Night” on Saturday, August 12, 2017 in East Hampton, N.Y.

Authors Night is the annual fundraiser to benefit the East Hampton Library, with all proceeds going directly to the Library. This literary event features 100 authors across all genres and with more than 2,500 people in attendance.

The Authors Book Signing Cocktail Reception will be held from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Enjoy hors d’oeuvres, wine under the tent and meet your favorite authors, buy their books and have them inscribed. The most recent titles for each author will be available for purchase at the event. Tickets are $100 and are also available at the door.

Choose your party at a Hamptons home. The Dinner Parties begin at 8 p.m., directly following the Authors Reception, guests dine at dinner parties at private homes in honor of one or more of the guest authors. 11th Annual GET WILD!

The Evelyn Alexander Wildlife Rescue Center presents the “11th Annual GET WILD!” on Saturday, August 12, 2017 from 6 to 8 p.m. in Southampton, N.Y.

The cocktail party will be hosted by Leslie Alexander & Liz Brown and held at their private residence in Southampton, N.Y. Meet some feathered and furry friends and know that your donation makes a difference to the lives of the injured and orphaned wildlife that inhabit our region. ARF’s Bow Wow Meow Ball

 ARF presents the “Bow Wow Meow Ball” on Saturday, August 19, 2017 at 6:30 p.m. at the ARF Adoption Center in Wainscott, N.Y.

ARF will honor Nan Bush and photographer Bruce Weber with the Champion of Animals Award. Their award will be presented by past honorees Katharina Otto-Bernstein and Peter Marino. Decorator and ARF Board Member Alex Papachristidis will again join the event planner, David Monn, to transform ARF’s Adoption Center. Cocktails begin at 6:30 p.m., followed by dinner – catered by Cloud Catering & Events featuring sustainable fish and vegan specialties – and dancing with the Peter Duchin Orchestra. East Hampton Artists & Writers Charity Softball Game

 “The 69th Annual East Hampton Artists & Writers Charity Softball Game” will be held on Saturday, August 19, 2017 at 2 p.m. at Herrick Park in East Hampton, N.Y.

The Annual Charity Softball Game is one of the longest running traditions on the East End. Singers from Houses of Worship on the East End will perform the National Anthem. Enjoy hot dogs, hamburgers and ice cream and watch the game where celebrities’ play and everybody wins.

This year’s charities are The Eleanor Whitmore Early Childhood Center, Phoenix House Academy, The Retreat and East End Hospice.

East End Hospice Box Art Auction

East End Hospice presents “Box Art Auction” on Saturday, August 26, 2017 from 4:30 to 8 p.m. at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in East Hampton, N.Y.

Prominent artists from the East End transform a wine box or cigar box into unique and collectible works of art which will be included in either the silent or the live auction. The silent auction and reception will be held at 4:30 p.m. with the live auction at 6 p.m. Lucas Hunt will conduct the live auction.

The Auction Preview will be held on Wednesday and Thursday, August 23 and 24 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at St. Luke’s Hoie Hall. The free Preview Reception will be held on Wednesday, August 23 from 5 to 7 p.m.

Southampton Arts Center SummerFest

The Southampton Arts Center presents the annual “SummerFest Food and Wine Festival” on Thursday, August 31, 2017 from 6 to 10 p.m. in Southampton, N.Y.

Celebrate the success of the Southampton Arts Centers’ 5th season at the annual Culinary Arts Festival. This year will honor its Co-Chair Simon Levinson with the 2017 Champion of the Arts Award. Simone Levinson and her husband David are part of the original Founders Circle, and she has served as a Founding Board Co-Chair for the past seven years.

SummerFest will feature a wide selection of dishes from a host of celebrated restaurants and chefs across the East End. Guests will also enjoy the exhibition, “About Face: Contemporary Portraiture,” presented with New York Academy of Art, as well as music by DJ Karin Ward.
