Vineyard Seasons with Louisa Hargrave

Peconic Landing presents “Vineyard Seasons with Louisa Hargrave” on Wednesday, June 7, 2017 at 7:30 p.m.

Co-founder of Hargrave Vineyard Louisa Hargrave will lead an illustrated talk to launch a new series on the cycle of the vine and the resulting wine from Long Island's vineyards. Hargrave Vineyard opened in 1973 and is the first winery on Long Island. Hargrave's talk will share her experiences and insights into the industry. Her talk includes photos and a discussion.

Live Jazz at Bay Burger 

The Jam Session Inc. presents “Live Jazz” on Thursday, June 8, 2017 from 7 to 9 p.m. at Bay Burger in Sag Harbor.

This week's concert presents an Afro Cuban Jazz night featuring Oscar Feldman on alto sax with Ian MacDonald on piano and Michael O'Brien on bass. Live music series takes place on select evenings though August 10, 2017.

Is Art About Money?

Examining the business of art is the topic of the next "Out of the Question" panel discussion series with host Warren Strugatch. "The Business of Art: Passion or Profit" will take place on Thursday, June 8, 2017 at 7 p.m. at the Southampton Arts Center. Panelists include artists Eric Fischl and Toni Ross, art dealer Ruth Vered and fair producer and art collector Rick Friedman. Tickets are $15.

Hampton Theatre Company Presents “Alarms and Excursions”

The Hampton Theatre Company offers its final performances of Michael Frayn’s “Alarms and Excursions” at the Quogue Community Hall. The show will continue its run Thursday through Sunday, June 11, 2017.

The five short plays of “Alarms and Excursions” find laughter and resonance in the way longtime couples try to cope with too often annoying technological “advances” and the often annoying routines and roles they have established with each other over time. Positive reviews for productions of the play in London range from “dizzyingly funny” (Variety) to “enormous fun” (The Telegraph).

Talk on Landscape Architecture

The Parrish Art Museum presents the Talk “Inter-Sections: Landscape Architecture and the Environment: The Aesthetics of Sustainability” on Friday, June 9, 2017 from 6 to 8 p.m.

The conversation between Chris Reed, founder and director of landscape firm Stoss, and Alex Matthiessen, president of eco-political consulting firm, Blue Marble Project, explores how landscape design can weave together human activity, natural forces and the built environment. The talk will address ways in which architects, landscape designers and community representatives can work together more efficiently to implement low-impact, eco-friendly projects.

Landscape Pleasures Annual Benefit Weekend

The Parrish Art Museum presents “Landscape Pleasures” from Saturday, June 10 through Sunday, June 11, 2017.

Presented as a Benefit Event available at three different ticket levels, the weekend kicks off with a Symposium on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. featuring speakers Page Dickey, Christy Ten Eyck, and R. William Thomas. Also on Saturday, an Exclusive Luncheon and Benefit Committee Cocktail Party are offered. On Sunday, self-guided Garden Tours take place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at four Hamptons Properties.

Live in HD! National Theatre’s “Amadeus”

Peconic Landing presents “Captured Live in HD! National Theatre presents: Amadeus” on Sunday, June 11, 2017 from 3 to 6 p.m.

Peconic Landing will screen live in HD "Amadeus," broadcast by the National Theatre with live orchestral accompaniment by Southbank Sinfonia. The play tells the story of young Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's relationship with court composer Antonio Salieri upon Mozart's arrival in Vienna, the music capital of the world. Seized by jealousy for Mozart's talent, Salieri begins a war with Mozart and with the music world in general.

"Amadeus"  won multiple Olivier and Tony Awards after premiering at the National Theatre in 1979. It was later adapted into an Academy Award-winning film.
