"Springs Improvement Society's 33rd Annual Members Art Show"

The "Springs Improvement Society's 33rd Annual Members Art Show" has an Opening Reception on Friday, May 26, 2017 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Ashawagh Hall. There is a $5 admission to the Reception and it includes wine and snacks. The show remains on view from May 26 to 29, 2017.

The gallery is open Saturday & Sunday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and on Monday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Admission to the exhibition is free. Ashawagh Hall is located at 780 Springs Fireplace Road and Old Stone Highway, Springs, NY. www.ashawagh-hall.org.

Closing Party for an Artist Project Exhibition 

“Alt – Egos” will have a Closing Reception on Friday, May 26, 2017 from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at CRUSH Curatorial's pop up space in Amagansett. Set in a converted potato barn (which is now a pristine artist studio), the party features a special musical performance by Hippie With a Hammer, featuring artists Bill Komoski and Jon Kessler at 7 p.m. The exhibition itself, "Alt - Ego" presents artists exhibiting work that's not typical or work they are not known for. Art includes early career drawings, experiments, side projects, hidden talents, and even crafts. Curated by Scott Bluedorn/Neoteric Projects.

Opening Reception for Eric Firestone Gallery's "Season Opener"

Eric Firestone in East Hampton Village opens its first show of the season with an Opening Reception on Friday, May 26, 2017 from 6 to 8 p.m. Aptly named "Season Opener," the group show presents art by Michael Boyd, Sydney Butchkes, Jorge Fick, Howard Kanovitz, Ted Kurahara, Kyle Morris, Tony Robbin, Miriam Schapiro and Mia Fonssagrives Solow. Opening Reception for "Anchor: A Whale of a Show"

"Anchor: A Whale of a Show" has its Opening Reception on Friday, May 26, 2017 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Sag Harbor Whaling Museum.

Curated by artists Dan Rizzie and Susan Lazarus-Reiman, the group show pays tribute to Sag Harbor and its historical ties to the whaling community through the art of artists who live in Sag Harbor or the East End at large. Exhibiting artists include Paul Davis, Jamie Ellis, Eric Fischl, April Gornik, Laurie Lambrecht, Susan Lazarus-Reimen, Lindsay Morris, Christine Morro, Jill Musnicki, Jodi Panas, Dan Rizzie, Reynold Ruffins, David Slater, Ned Smyth, Donald Sultan, John Torreano and Ross Watts.

Westhampton Pop-Up Show and Yoga Music Night

Two time Grammy nominee, DALIEN, aka 13 HANDS, presents "KIRTAN!," a collaborative concert using a multitude of instruments at Hamptons Yoga Healing Arts in Westhampton on Friday, May 26, 2017  from 7 to 8:45 p.m. The musical evening celebrates the arrival of Memorial Day Weekend and is a Closing Reception for the group show “LAND AND SEE: LANDSCAPES AND BEYOND.

DALIEN, aka 13 HANDS will weave flute, hang drum, primordial voice channeling, ambient loops, guitars and percussion before continuing to the kirtan with inspiring chants and interactive songs. The family friendly event presents a way to experience the power of community, friendship and creates a tribal, high vibrational, positive and loving energy.

“LAND AND SEE: LANDSCAPES AND BEYOND”presents the art of Pat Farrell, Jacques Leblanc, Elizabeth Malunwicz, Mary McCormack, Martha Michael and Frank Olt. The works presented represent a probing of the landscape-its colors, shapes, myths, presence-they explore what's familiar and strange, shifting from paint and surface to illusion and representation and somewhere in between. SATURDAY AFTERNOON

The Leiber Collection opens for the 2017 season with an Opening Celebration Garden Tea Party on Saturday, May 27 from 2 to 5 p.m. with its exhibition "Magnificent Obsession - Fashion, Passion and Collection." The show features work held by three Judith Leiber collectors in the main gallery and Gerson Leiber paintings and prints from his Fashion Series in the painting gallery. Contemporary Art Hot Spot - Gallery Reception Hopping in East Hampton Village

Joel Mesler opens his new Hamptons Gallery, "RENTAL" in East Hampton Village on Saturday night with an Opening Reception from 4 to 6 p.m. The inaugural exhibition, "Oliver Twist, Chapter 2: Dear Darren," is a retrospective of artists who have shown with the gallery in its NYC incarnation. The show presents around 40 artists including Alex Israel, Rashid Johnson, Eddie Martinez, Sam Moyer, Ruby Sky Stiler, Jonas Wood and many others. Contemporary Art Hot Spot - Sag Harbor Village

Sag Harbor Village is another art hot spot on Saturday night with three opening receptions starting at 5 p.m. and continuing through 9 p.m. First up, is Romany Kramoris Gallery's summer season opener "Ready, Set, Go!" with an Opening Reception from 5 to 6:30 p.m. The group show features art by Christopher Engel, Kelly Nelson, Alan Nevins, Lynn Matsuoka, Isabel Pavão, and Ghilia Lipman-Wulf. New Greenport Contemporary Art Gallery & Debut Exhibition

Photographer Gallery Talk on Capturing Artist Icons at the Pollock-Krasner House

"East End Art World, August 1953: Photographs by Tony Vaccaro" has a Reception and Gallery Talk on Sunday, May 28, 2017 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Pollock-Krasner House in The Springs. Tony Vaccarro and his family will be present at the reception and gallery talk. The 94-year-old photographer will give his personal recollections of photographing members of the art community while on assignment for Look magazine. Many of the images were lost for more than 60 years and are on view for the first time at the Pollock-Krasner House. The exhibition remains on view through July 29, 2017. Admission is free. Street Painting Festival in Riverhead

East End Arts will be holding its daylong celebration of the arts, the 21st annual Community Mosaic Street Painting Festival, on Sunday, May 28, 2017, from noon to 5 p.m. Rain date is Monday, May 29, 2017 from 2 to 5 p.m. The annual chalk mural festival features artist professionals, art students and mural enthusiasts creating art in chalk on Riverhead’s East Main Street. Sign up the day of the event or enjoy watching art spring to life. The creative street festival also features live music, dance, gourmet food trucks, an arts and crafts fair and family activities.
