Lectures, talks, a gallery walk, live music and theater all make our top picks for things to do in The Hamptons, the North Fork and Riverhead in the next two weeks on the East End. There's even a documentary costume parade, a street art paint-out and an art street festival to keep things interesting. Read on for options through August 14, 2016.

1. "My Fair Lady" Opens at Bay Street Theater

"My Fair Lady" Opens at Bay Street Theater on Tuesday, August 2 and continues through August 28, 2016. The Opening performance takes place on August 2 at 7 p.m.

"My Fair Lady" is a musical that tells the story of Eliza Doolittle, a flower seller, and Professor Henry Higgins. When the two meet, Higgins wagers that he can transform Eliza into a "lady fit for society." The result is a funny, ferocious battle of the sexes that touches on class struggle and romance. The new production by director Michael Arden with Book and Lyrics by Alan Jay Lerner features two pianos and fifteen actors and music by Frederick Loewe.

2. Watermill Center's Scaler Lecture Series

Watermill Center holds its popular Scaler Lecture Series line-up from August 2 - 18, 2016, featuring distinguished scholars, artists and thinkers invited by Robert Wilson to speak on topics ranging across the arts and sciences. This year's lecturers include Kinan Azmeh (August 2), BG Muhn (August 4), Carl Schoonover (August 9), Wesley Enoch (August 10), Dr. Cornel West (August 16), and Mary Ellen Carroll (August 18). Aligning with Watermill Center’s mission to encourage creative experimentation, these innovators join the growing list of noteable sperakers, including Nadya Tolokonnikova, Fern Mallis, Philip Glass and Tom Hennes from prior years.

3. Long Island Comedy Festival

The 11th Annual Long Island Comedy Festival unfolds at the Suffolk Theater in Riverhead on Thursday, August 4, 2016 at 8 p.m. Hosted by Paul Anthony, the line up includes Chris Roach, Isaacs & Baker and special guest comedians.

Tickets are $25 in advance or $30 at the door. Tickets include row or cabaret seating. The door opens at 6:30 p.m. for drinks and dining. The show begins at 8 p.m. The Suffolk Theater is located at 118 East Main Street, Riverhead, NY 11901. www.suffolktheater.com.

4. "Sounds of Summer" Concert With Winston Irie

"Sounds of Summer: Winston Irie" takes place on Friday, August 5, 2016 at 6 p.m. at The Parrish Art Museum.

The "Sounds of Summer" series presents live outdoor music from The Parrish's covered terrace. Visitors are invited to bring a lawn chair or blanket and seat themselves on the terrace or the lawn. This week's concert features Winston Irie, a staple on the raggae scene.

5. Greenport Gallery Walk

The galleries of Greenport Village have banded together to present an evening gallery walk on the first Friday of each month. Starting this Friday (August 5, 2016), galleries participating include South Street Gallery, Greenport Harbor Brewing Company Gallery, Gallery M, Sirens's Song Gallery, Nova Constellatio Gallery and Hector deCordova Studio & Gallery. The event takes place form 6 to 9 p.m. and features art and refreshments.

Galleries are located along Main Street (Route 25) in the heart of Greenport Village with South Street Gallery located a few steps away on South Street (which intersects with Main Street). Click here for details.

6. Dorian Grey Gallery presents "Hamptons Art Duel"

"Hamptons Art Duel" takes place on Saturday, August 6, 2016 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Dorian Grey Gallery.

For the "Hamptons Art Duel," two teams of renowned street artists (BD-White & JPO, Jeremy Penn & Lambros) will collaborate live on artwork. An afterparty follows until 10 p.m.

7. Author Talk With Jules Feiffer

An Author Talk With Jules Feiffer takes place on Saturday, August 6, 2016 from 6 to 7 p.m. at the Amagansett Free Library.

Cartoonist, playwright, screenwriter, author and teacher, Jules Feiffer will talk about his newest work, Cousin Joseph, his noir prequel to his acclaimed graphic novel, Kill My Mother. Admission is free. 8. Stirring The Pot: Conversations with Culinary Celebrities - Jean-Georges Vongerichten

"Stirring The Pot: Conversations with Culinary Celebrities - Jean-Georges Vongerichten" takes place on Sunday, August 7, 2016 at 11 a.m. at Guild Hall.

Jean-Georges Vongerichten, famous chef, businessman and restaurateur, discusses his expertise both in and outside the kitchen. The conversation is hosted and interviewed by Florence Fabricant, food writer and contributor to The New York Times dining section.

9. The Art Barge's Artists Speak Series Presents Laurie Anderson

A conversation with Laurie Anderson takes place on Wednesday, August 10, 2016 at 6 p.m. at The Victor D’Amico Institute of Art (The Art Barge).

Visual and performance artist Laurie Anderson is the final guest in The Art Barge’s 2016 Artists Speak series. Anderson is best known for her multimedia presentations and innovative use of technology. The conversation will be moderated by Andrea Grover, Curator of Special Projects at The Parrish Art Museum and soon to be Executive Director of Guild Hall.

10. East End Arts Presents "JumpstART" in Downtown Riverhead

East End Arts Presents "JumpstART" on Thursday, August 11, 2016 from 5 to 9 p.m. in downtown Riverhead.

"JumpstART" is an evening of free public art events including murals, performances, live music, dance, interactive projects, art installations and more.

11. Grey Gardens Costume Parade and Excerpt Screening

Grey Gardens Costume Parade and Excerpt Screening takes place on Thursday, August 11, 2016 at 5 p.m.

The Parrish Art Museum, Maysles Documentary Center and Hamptons International Film Festival will present a Reception and Edie Costume Parade followed by a conversation and screening of excerpts from the 1975 documentary, Grey Gardens.

Panelists include Harlem historian Michael Henry Adams, Grey Gardens subject Jerry "the Marble Faun" Torre, Grey Gardens editor and producer Muffie Meyer, and Sara Maysles (daughter of Albert Maysles and co-author of the book Grey Gardens). Iris Apfel and Jerry "the Marble Faun" Torre will judge the costume contest.

12. Certain Moves Perform Live at The Sag Harbor Whaling Museum

Certain Moves Perform on Friday, August 12, 2016 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at The Sag Harbor Whaling Museum.

13. Pianofest at Southampton Arts Center

Pianofest takes place on Saturday, August 13, 2016 at 5 p.m. at Southampton Arts Center.

Pianofest is an outdoor concert presenting an international cast of  young artists in a blend of public performance and music appreciation. Events include commentary about the performances and the music’s historical context.

14.  Modern Art in America Lecture at The Fireplace Project

The Lichtenstein Lectures at The Fireplace Project continues on August 14 at 5 p.m. with a talk on "Modern Art in America" by William C. Agee, a Hunter College Evelyn Kranes Kossak Professor of  Art History, Emeritus. A book signing will follow.

Lectures are held at The Fireplace Project, located at 851 Springs-Fireplace Road in Springs. Admission is free. The series is presented by the Pollock-Krasner House & Study Study.
