One of the under-the-radar gems of the East End art scene is juried open call shows held by the East End Art Gallery in Riverhead on Long Island. Open to all, East End Arts offers artists the chance to get their art in front of gallerists connected to The Hamptons, The East End and New York City.
Jurors have included Terri Sulton, Director of The Parrish Art Museum; Christina Mossaides Strassfield, Museum Director and Chief Curator of Guild Hall; Kathryn Markel of Kathryn Markel Fine Arts in Bridgehampton and Chelsea; Brian Washburn of Washburn Gallery in New York City; Richard Demato of RJD Gallery in Sag Harbor and others.
Still to come for the 2016 exhibition season are judges Mark Humphrey of Mark Humphrey Gallery in Southampton and Deanne and Michael Lyons of Lyons Wier Gallery in Chelsea.
For the current show, "Color", The South Street Gallerist and artist Amy Worth stepped up to the plate and selected four winners and 12 Honorable Mentions for themed group show who were announced when the group show opened on March 11, 2016 at the exhibition reception.
