There are plenty of art events to attend this weekend in The Hamptons. The Watermill Center presents events on Saturday and Sunday. Also spanning the weekend is Amagansett Free Library's lecture series "Art/History/Amagansett" with two programs offered. Film screenings take place this weekend at the Pollock-Krasner House and the Parrish Art Museum. This Saturday, look for art exhibition receptions from Amagansett to Southampton offering an array of contemporary art.

AMAGANSETT

AMAGANSETT FREE LIBRARY - “Art/History/Amagansett - ‘The Art Barge: Evolution of an Idea’” takes place on Saturday at 6 p.m. Art Barge President Christopher Kohan and artists/trustees Nicole Bigar and Michael Rosch will be in conversation with art advisor Elena Prohaska Glinn. “Art/History/Amagansett: ‘The Business of Art: 10 Things You Should Know’” takes place on Sunday at 6 p.m. East End and New York City lawyer and collector Carol Steinberg will speak with artist Janet Jennings moderating.

CHASE EDWARDS GALLERY - “Grey Matters: Recent Paintings by Janet Jennings” has an Opening Reception on Saturday from 6 to 9 p.m. The collection of paintings on view were inspired by Jennings’ love of landscape and fascination with the color grey and it’s optical effects on pure color. ASHAWAGH HALL - “Mostly Abstract” has an Opening Reception on Saturday from 5 to 7 p.m. The exhibition is on view from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday and from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday. HARPER’S BOOKS - “Daisuke Yokota: Color Photographs” has an Opening Reception on Saturday from 6 to 8 p.m. The exhibition remains on view through December 1. The show will focus on Yokota’s experiments with color photography, a body of work distinct from the black and white images, zines, and books for which he is known. POLLOCK-KRASNER HOUSE & STUDY CENTER - “Artists on Film Series” continues on Friday at 7 p.m. with Alfred Hitchcock’s “Vertigo,” 1958 (128 min). In conjunction with the exhibition, “Elaine de Kooning Portrayed,” this year’s film series focuses on portraiture in film. Admission is free. WATER MILL

PARRISH ART MUSEUM - “OLA Latino Film Festival Weekend” takes place from Friday to Sunday. The Organización Latino-Americana of Eastern Long Island presents the 12th annual OLA Latino Film Festival recent award-winning Latino cinema. This year's festival also includes a day of family activities, live music, dance performances and instruction, art projects, and poetry readings. Films are $10, free for members. Buy tickets here

“Guided Tour of the Permanent Collection” takes place on Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays from 2 to 3 p.m. The docent-led tour features highlights from the seven permanent collection galleries. Free with museum admission. Reservations suggested.

WATERMILL CENTER - “Open Rehearsal: ‘The Resonance Project’ by Oliver Beer” takes place on Saturday at 2 p.m. Multi-media artist Oliver Beer will be in residency at The Watermill Center through September 29, 2015.

“Fall Opening Weekend” takes place on Saturday and Sunday. Events begin at noon with a guided tour of the building and grounds. Make a reservation here. At 2 p.m. there will be an open rehearsal of resident artist Oliver Beer as well as the opening of the G.T. Pelizzi exhibition. Make a reservation here. Both events are free. On Sunday. Watermill Center hosts its first Autumn International Brunch at Topping Rose House from noon to 2:30 p.m. Cost is $75. Space is limited. Make a reservation here.
