Gallerist Andrea McCafferty, one of the owners and the director of The White Room Gallery in Bridgehampton curated this year’s exhibition. With over 15 years of experience curating shows, Andrea has brought together a mix of artists working in a wide range of disciplines for this historical exhibition.

Artists in this years show include Elaine Grove, Paton Miller, Savio Mizzi, Jim Gingerich, Barbara Groot, Ellyn Dooley and Eric Ernst to name a few. Fifty percent of the sales will be given to the Springs Improvement Society’s Scholarship Fund, a fund that benefits East Hampton high school graduates from Springs who are going on to college.

Officially starting in 1967, the Invitational began informally in 1958 as “Art On The Wall” at Ashawagh Hall, an event that usually coincided with the annual Fishermans’ Fair on the Ashawagh Hall Green. Over the years, the show has grown from a handful of local artists into the current exhibit that includes artwork from over 125 artists. Invitations to participate as an artist are highly coveted and this year’s show demonstrates the depth of talent that has always been associated with the Springs community.

On August 8, 2015 he newly expanded Fishermans’ Fair will take place on the grounds of the Hall. Traditional seafood dishes will be available as well as hot dogs, ice cream, beer and soft drinks. There will be a games area for children and a juried crafts area for people of all ages. The proceeds from the Fair go to the Springs Improvement Society to help maintain Ashawagh Hall.

On August 15 from 4 to 5 p.m., Andrea McCafferty will lead the Curator’s Tour of the Invitational Exhibit. This is an opportunity for the public to get a better understanding of individual works included in this year’s show.
