The Parrish Art Museum held their annual summer benefit in Watermill on Saturday, July 11, 2015. The Midsummer Party was a festive social gathering of art collectors, artists, socialites, entertainers, philanthropists, and business leaders from the Hamptons and beyond.
Parrish Art Museum Director, Terrie Sultan hosted the Midsummer Party. Approximately 1,000 guests attended the evening’s festivities. The guests mingled and viewed the Museum’s current exhibitions, including Chuck Close’s photographs (on view through July 26), Tara Donovan’s new site-responsive sculptures (on view through October 12), and a selection of works from the Museum’s permanent collection.
Guests enjoyed a cocktail reception, and a sit-down dinner was served al fresco on the Mildred C. Brinn Terrace, provided by Olivier Catering and Events.
Ron Wendt Design presented the 2015 Midsummer Party’s décor, inspired by Chuck Close's "Anthurium" and "Chrysanthemum" photographs. Acid green tablecloths were dramatically contrasted with the black wood paneled walls of the Mildred C. Brinn Terrace. Overhead, bands of greenery inset into the terrace's structural I-Beams popped with bands of bright green rope lighting, highlighting the architecture, day-glo green cording zigzaged across the ceiling in phosphorescent green illuminated patterns.
The evening continued with the After Ten Party, where guests danced the night away. New York-based Coleman Music provided the music for the party.
