NEW WINDSOR, N.Y. – Storm King Art Center's Fourth Annual Summer Solstice Celebration was held on June 20, 2015 on the grounds of the sculpture park in the Hudson Valley. The evening was attended by Storm King trustees, artists, and art world influencers. The guest list included Lynda Stern, David Curcurito, Jessica Curcurito, Shelley Boris, Peter Hoffman, Nicholas Weist and others. Artists attending included Doug and Mike Starn, Peter Coffin, Stephen Talasnik and artists in residence Frankie Boue and Kristof Wickman.
Guests enjoyed cocktails and hors d'oeuvres while viewing the exhibitions "Lynda Benglis: Water Sources" and "Outlooks: Luke Stettner". "Water Sources" is the first exhibition to concentrate on a major body of outdoor work by Benglis. The show is comprised of large-scale sculptures and fountains. Luke Stettner presents a large-scale outdoor installation and a new body of work exhibited indoors.
Following the reception, guests dined under the stars enjoying a farm-to-table menu (by chefs Peter Hoffman + Shelley Boris) inspired by the vibrant colors of the exhibitions and danced the night away to a musical performance by Pete Francis of Dispatch featuring The Dragon Crest Collective.
The Celebration Committee included Tracy Hoveln & Wes Fuller, Cathy Kuttner Polich & Dick Polich, Alexia Sheinman, Isabel Sheinman, RJ Smith, Lisa Stern, Lynda Stern & Scott Vandervoort.
