“Moby-Dick Marathon” takes place from Friday through Sunday at various venues in Sag Harbor. The event celebrates a double anniversary: Canio’s Books 35th and Southampton Town’s 375th. The marathon culminates with an After Party at Canio's Books after the final words from the book are spoken (2 to 5 p.m.). Venues include Canio’s Books, the Sag Harbor Whaling Museum, Bay Street Theater, John Jermain Memorial Library, Old Whalers’ Church, and Eastville Community Historical Society. SOUTHAMPTON HISTORICAL SOCIETY - “Hooked Rugs by Marilyn Bottjer” has an Opening Reception on Friday from 5:30 to 7 p.m. The exhibition remains on view through June 27. PARRISH ART MUSEUM - “Brain Food: Eric Dever on the Permanent Collection” takes place today at noon. Eric Dever will discuss works from the Permanent Collection from his perspective as a contemporary abstract painter at the Brain Food lunchtime lecture series. Admission is $10, free for members. Reservations are recommended.

“Landscape Pleasures” takes place on Saturday and Sunday. The annual horticulture event will include a symposium with leaders in garden design, as well as exclusive tours of private gardens in East Hampton and Wainscott. The symposium takes place on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Self-guided tours of private gardens in Wainscott and East Hampton take place on Sunday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tickets for the symposium and garden tours are $225 ($175 for Parrish Members). Ticket purchasers at the Sponsor level and above ($350+) are invited to a private cocktail reception on Saturday evening at the Southampton garden of Marcia Riklis.

“Guided Tour of the Permanent Collection” takes place on Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. The docent-led tour features highlights from the seven permanent collection galleries. Free with museum admission. Reservations suggested.

WATERMILL CENTER - “Open Rehearsal | Flying Point” takes place on Saturday from 8 to 9:30 p.m. The current artists-in-residence at The Watermill Center - Tomek Jeziorski, Adam Lenz, Shane Weeks & Karolina Zielińska will present a multimedia installation serving as a living portrait of the contemporary Shinnecock community.
