The Hamptons art scene continues to spring to live with a series of exhibition receptions and events this weekend. Notable are two exhibitions featuring works by East End artists: Guild Hall's Artists Members Exhibition and a group show featuring 50 artists at Southampton Center. Both promise to have mobbed receptions that will draw out the local art scene. Also notable is a Steinbeck Weekend at Bay Street Theater and Canio's in Sag Harbor. AMAGANSETT

ILLE ARTS - “Mark Perry: Summertime” has an Opening Reception on Saturday from 5 to 7 p.m. The exhibition remains on view through May 19. Perry will show abstract paintings inspired by seasons. Ille Arts is located at 216 Main Street, Amagansett, New York 11930. www.illearts.com.

EAST HAMPTON/SPRINGS

ASHAWAGH HALL - "Springs School Mystery Art Sale" has a Closing Reception on Saturday from 3 to 5 p.m. Artworks are available for sale on a first-come, first-serve basis continue from April 30 - May 1 from 4 to 7 p.m. and on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Benefits The Springs School Visiting Artist program and other art initiatives. All artworks are 5 x 7 inches and sell for $20. The artist name is absent and only revealed after the sale. GUILD HALL - “77th Annual Artist Members Exhibition” has an Opening Reception on Saturday from 4 to 6 p.m. The exhibition remains on view through June 6. The exhibition features works in a variety of media from more than 400 of Guild Hall’s artist members. Awards will be presented at the Opening Reception. Marlo Prather, a Curator in the Department of Modern and Contemporary Art at the Metropolitan Museum of Art is the awards juror.Guild Hall is located at 158 Main Street, East Hampton, New York 11937. www.guildhall.org.

THE DRAWING ROOM - “Robert Harms: New Paintings” and “Raja Ram Sharma: New Miniatures” have an Opening Reception on Saturday from 5 to 7 p.m. The exhibitions remain on view through June 1. The Drawing Room is located at 66 Newtown Lane, East Hampton, NY 11937. www.drawingroom-gallery.com.

GREENPORT   

PECONIC LANDING - “The Recorder Orchestra of New York: The Unexpected Recorder” takes place on Sunday at 3 p.m. The group offers music the Medieval, Renaissance and Baroque periods along with a variety of Classical, Contemporary and Swing selections. MONTAUK

MONTAUK LIBRARY - “LOVE LOSS & WHAT I WORE” takes place on Saturday from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. The play is directed by Terry Brockbank and stars Linda Betjeman, Kathy Brockbank, Susan Cincotta, Jenifer Maxon, and Sara Mundy. QUOGUE

QUOGUE LIBRARY GALLERY - “Janet Jennings - Short Stories” has an Opening Reception on Saturday from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. The exhibition remains on view through May 31. SUFFOLK COUNTY HISTORICAL SOCIETY - “Roundtable Discussion: Long Island’s Continued Tradition of Boatbuilding” takes place this evening at 6 p.m. The Discussion is related to the exhibition “From Shore to Shore: Boatbuilders and Boatyards of Long Island,” on view through September 19. SAG HARBOR

BAY STREET THEATER - “Steinbeck Weekend” takes place on May 2 and 3. Events on May 2 include a VIP reception at Harbor’s Edge and a tour of the Steinbeck property by Grady White boat from 5 to 7 p.m. Both events are presented in celebration of the 375 Anniversary of the Town of Southampton. Events on May 3 include a Travels with Charley Dog Walk at 11 a.m. followed by a reception at Bay Street Theater. At 2 p.m. authors Tom Clavin and Joe Pintauro will participate in a dialogue titled John Steinbeck and Sag Harbor: A Love Story at the John Jermain Memorial Library in Sag Harbor. PETER MARCELLE PROJECT - “Jon Mulhern: Impulses” has an Opening Reception on Saturday from 6 to 8 p.m. The exhibition remains on view through May 10.  Mulhern will show abstract paintings reflecting on natural movements through wind, land, water and paint. SOUTHAMPTON CENTER - "East End Collected" has an Opening Reception on Saturday from 5 to 7 p.m. The exhibition remains on view through May 17. WATER MILL

PARRISH ART MUSEUM - “Salon Series Concert: Daria Rabotkina, Pianist with the Verona Quartet” takes place on Friday at 6 p.m. Admission is $20, $10 for members.

“Talk and Book Signing with Artist Dan Rizzie” takes place on Sunday at 11 a.m. Admission is $10, free for members, children and students.

“Guided Tour of the Permanent Collection” takes place on Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. The docent-led tour features highlights from the seven permanent collection galleries. Free with museum admission. Reservations suggested.
