AMAGANSETT

ILLE ARTS GALLERY - “UBIQUITY” has an Opening Reception on Saturday at 5 p.m. The exhibition remains on view through April 27. Featured artists include Maeve D’Arcy, Jim Drain, Sabra Moon Elliot, Saskia Friedrich, and Bill Saylor. The show is curated by Saskia Friedrich. SOUTHAMPTON HISTORICAL MUSEUM - “Director’s Tour of the Nathaniel Rogers House” takes place today at noon. Admission is free. Bridgehampton Historical Society Executive Director John Eilertsen will lead a tour of the Nathaniel Rogers House followed by a visit to the Corwith House, the Bridgehampton Historical Society’s headquarters and exhibition space. EAST HAMPTON/SPRINGS

ASHAWAGH HALL - “The Fifth Annual Art Groove” has an Opening Reception on Saturday from 6 to 11 p.m. Art Groove incorporates visual art, live music, film and a dance party. The visual art part features 13 contemporary artists and is viewable on Saturday from noon to 11 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. The Reception begins with a musical performance by Out East featuring John Junks, Brian Le Clerck and Gerry Giliberti. PECONIC LANDING - “Ben-Hur: A Silent Movie Spectacular” takes place on Saturday at 3 p.m. The 1925 silent film will be screened featuring a live organ accompaniment by Bernie Anderson. SOUTHOLD HISTORICAL SOCIETY at PECONIC RECREATION CENTER - “Fundraiser for Rare Civil War Banner Set” takes place on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Chinese Auction will benefit the conservation and preservation of the Society’s Civil War “Wide Awake” parade banner. In addition to the auction, the staff at Jeni’s Main Street Grill, located at 54195 Main Road in Southold, will be donating all their tips on Friday, April 10th towards the banner’s preservation. Peconic Recreation Center is located at 970 Peconic Lane, Peconic, New York 11958. www.southoldhistoricalsociety.org.

PETER MARCELLE PROJECT - “David Slater: Something Old, Something New” has an Opening Reception on Saturday from 6 to 8 p.m. The exhibition continues through April 26. On view will be a selection of narrative paintings Slater refers to as his “memoirs.” A percentage of exhibition sales benefit the Sag Harbor Whaling & Historical Museum’s building restoration efforts. LTV - “Second Annual Poetry Affair” takes place on Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. with a reception at  6:30 p.m. The event features 14 poets from the Long Island area. WATER MILL

PARRISH ART MUSEUM - “Brain Food: Deputy Director Scott Howe on Parrish Art Museum Landscape” takes place today at noon. The talk is $10, free for members, children and students. Attendees are invited to bring their own lunch or to purchase lunch at the Golden Pear Cafe.

“Sam Green and Brent Green: Live Cinema” takes place on Friday at 6 p.m. The collaboration between documentary filmmaker Sam Green and visual artist Brent Green features a program of short pieces of cinema with live narration and musical accompaniment by Brendan Canty (Fugazi) and James Canty (The Nation of Ulysses). Admission is $10, free for members, children and students. Reservations are recommended.

Robert Dash: Theme and Variations - A Roundtable Discussion” takes place on Saturday at 11 a.m. The conversation on Robert Dash will include poet Douglas Crase; Alexandra Munroe, Samsung Senior Curator, Asian Art, Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum; Anne Raver, New York Timesgarden writer; and Alicia Longwell, the Lewis B. and Dorothy Cullman Chief Curator, Art and Education. Admission is $10, free for members, children and students. Reservations are recommended.

“Guided Tour of the Permanent Collection” takes place on Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. The docent-led tour features highlights from the seven permanent collection galleries. Free with museum admission. Reservations suggested.

SOUTHOLD HISTORICAL SOCIETY at the SOUND VIEW RESTAURANT - “The April Showers Dinner” takes place on Thursday, April 16. A choice of Roast Chicken, Fish, or Vegetarian Entrée will be available, and a cash raffle will take place during the event.
