ELEVEN LEADING LONG ISLAND ARTISTS TO EXHIBIT ART INTERPRETING NATURE AT ASHAWAGH HALL

Drawing inspiration from earth, water and sky, these divergent artists have produced unique pieces that reflect their individual interpretations of the essence of nature, resulting in an extraordinary collection of work expressed through paint, pastel, ink, fiber art and clay.

"NATURAL ELEMENTS" opens on Friday, July 25, and continues through Sunday, July 27, 2014. An Opening Reception will be held on Saturday, July 26, 2014 from 5 to 8 p.m.

Ashawagh Hall is located at 780 Springs Fireplace Road, East Hampton, NY 11937.

Long Island artists have a unique connection with nature. Surrounded by breathtaking vistas of field and sea, enhanced by a preternatural light, these eleven artists evoke that magic that is the East End.

The group show will present abstraction, figurative and impressionistic works. Exhibiting artists are Barbara Groot, Rosario Varela, Mary Laspia, Kirsten Benfield, Susan Burr Carlo, Judy Clifford, Anne Holton, Richard Udice, Katherine D. Crone, Annie Sessler, and Lisa Weston.

Abstract works in “NATURAL ELEMENTS” will be exhibited by such notables as Barbara Groot and Rosario Varela.

Dynamic organic forms are represented in ceramics by Lisa Weston and Rosario Varela.

Figurative and impressionistic work will be exhibited from established and emerging artists including Kirsten Benfield, Susan Burr Carlo, Judy Clifford, Anne Holton, Mary Laspia, and Richard Udice.

Katherine D. Crone’s unique three-dimensional constructions are printed on silk organza and Annie Sessler provides sophisticated fish prints.

"NATURAL ELEMENTS" will be on view on Friday July 25 ( 3 pm- 7 pm), Saturday July 26 ( 9 am- 8 pm), and Sunday July 27 ( 11 am- 4 pm).  An OPENING RECEPTION will be held on Saturday, July 26, from 5 pm- 8 pm.
