The arrival of Art Market Hamptons and Art Hamptons take center stage on the Hamptons art scene this week. Both shows open tonight in Bridgehampton. Benefit galas for the Parrish Art Museum and Bay Street Theatre take place on Saturday so there's plenty of fun to be had. In addition, there are gallery openings, author readings, artist talks and more in the Hamptons and on the North Fork this weekend. AMAGANSETT

KARMA - “Michael Williams: 5 Paintings” has an Opening Reception on Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. The exhibition remains on view through July 28. Williams will show new paintings. KARMA is located at 249 Main Street, Amagansett, NY 11930. www.karmakarma.org.

BRIDGEHAMPTON

ART HAMPTONS opens tonight (Thursday) at Nova's Ark Project. First Look for Black Card holders only takes place from 5 to 7 p.m. The Opening Night Preview takes place from 7 to 9:30 p.m. The fair continues through Sunday. ART MARKET HAMPTONS opens tonight on the grounds of the Bridgehampton Historical Society. The Benefit Preview Reception takes place from 6 to 7 p.m. (funds are being raised for LongHouse Reserve) and the VIP Party takes place from 7 to 10 p.m. The fair continues through Sunday. POLLOCK - KRASNER HOUSE at THE FIREPLACE PROJECT - “Lichtenstein Lectures: The Spirit of Abstraction and Springs Mathematician Jean van Heijenoort” takes place on Sunday at 5 p.m. Phyllis Braff will lead the lecture with Jean van Heijenoort. WILLIAM QUIGLEY’S STUDIO - “Mash - Up Society” by William Quigley and Ben Moon has an Opening Night party on Saturday from 7 - 11 p.m. The event includes a live auction of 3 paintings at 10 p.m, music by DJ Cash, and a guest appearance by Joybox. MARTOS GALLERY - “Another, Once Again, Many Times More” has an Opening Reception on Saturday from 2 - 6 p.m. at the gallery’s Summer location. GREENPORT   

SOUTHOLD HISTORICAL SOCIETY – “11th Annual Summer Fundraiser” takes place on July 12 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Brecknock Hall in Greenport, NY. The event includes music, a wine and beer bar, finger foods, a buffet dinner, and a silent auction. The event honors Peggy Murphy. THE MONTAUK LIBRARY - “Villa Diodati” screens on Saturday from 7:30 - 9 p.m. in the Suzanne Koch Gosman Room. The screening of the contemporary Chamber Opera is free. 

“True North: Middle East” Concert by the Compass Trio takes place on Wednesday from 7:30 - 9 p.m. The Compass Trio includes Carlo Valte on oud, Francisco Roldan on guitar, and Danny Mallon on percussion. The concert is free.

SUNY STONY BROOK – “Clams for Clams” takes place on Friday from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at the Marine Sciences Center on the Stony Brook Southampton college campus in Southampton, NY. A sunset cruise on Shinnecock Bay will take place at 7 p.m. Proceeds will go towards building clam sanctuaries to enhance clam reproductive output, increase water quality, and help control algae blooms.   1. Somehow you skipped JAMESPORT with “Listen” a large solo show of new work by painter Charles Wildbank at the Jedidiah Hawkins Art Barn. Featuring a new 3 panel oil on canvas mural, the show runs until August 4th.

    • Hi Mary. The Wildbank show was listed in the Art Round Up for the July 4th weekend to announce the opening. If there is another opening this weekend, we were not sent this info.
