ART SEEN – Bob Dylan Art Celebrated at Mark Borghi Fine Art

Artwork by Bob Dylan received a Hamptons welcome on July 3, 2014 when the exhibition opened with an invitation-only reception at Mark Borghi Fine Art in Bridgehampton. The art opening doubled as a pre-party for Art Hamptons, which opens later this week at Nova's Ark Project, also in Bridgehampton, NY.

“Bob Dylan: The Drawn Blank Series” presents paintings and sculpture made by the music icon. The show remains on view through July 18. Presented are a series of paintings based on drawings and sketches Dylan made while on the road from 1989 through 1992. The works are a mix of landscape, streetscape, portraiture, figurative and still life. Taken together, the works conjure a snapshot of Dylan's personal moments.

The black and white sketches, which form the basis for the exhibition, were published in a book titled "Drawn Blank Series" by Random House. The art on view includes paintings made using enlarged prints of the drawings and sketches that are included in the book.
