EAST END, NY-

The East End art scene is starting to bloom. Water Mill is the place to be tonight and tomorrow night with art openings abounding in Sag Harbor and East Hampton this weekend. Following is the full list of new exhibitions and culture taking place on the East End.

EAST HAMPTON/SPRINGS 

ASHAWAGH HALL - “The Fourth Annual Art Groove” has an Opening Reception on Saturday from 6 to 11 p.m. The event takes place on Saturday from noon to 11 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. The event combines the work of 13 artists as well as a film screening, musical performance, and a dance party. “CONVERSATION @ THE MODERN BARN” takes place on Saturday at 2 p.m. "The Problem with Sculpture: aspect, evolution, place, and placement” feature artists Dennis Leri and Sydney Albertini in conversation with opening remarks by Esperanza León, curator of "Contemporary Landscapes and Other Fantasies" currently on view at The Modern Barn. THE DRAWING ROOM - “Linda Etcoff: new drawings” and “Laurie Lambrecht: photographs & knitted sketches” opens on Friday and remains on view through May 18. The gallery is located at 66H Newtown Lane, East Hampton, NY 11937. www.drawingroom-gallery.com.

VERED CONTEMPORARY - “Elizabeth Dow: Heaven and Earth” has an Opening Reception on Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. The exhibition remains on view through May 19. Vered Contemporary is located at 68 Park Place, East Hampton, NY 11937. www.veredcontemporary.com.

GREENPORT 

PECONIC LANDING in partnership with EAST END ARTS - Screening of “WADJDA” takes place on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $10. Peconic Landing is located at 1500 Brecknock Road, Greenport, NY 11944. www.peconiclanding.com.

SAG HARBOR

GRENNING GALLERY – “Group Show” has an Opening Reception on Saturday from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Artists on view include Karl Dempwolf, Chad Fisher, Kristy Gordon, Maryann Lucas, and Sebastiano Vitale. The gallery is located at 17 Washington St, Sag Harbor, NY 11963. www.grenninggallery.com.

LA MAISONETTE GALLERY - "Sag Harbor Clay" opens on Saturday with a reception from 4 to 6 p.m. The exhibition features ceramics, porcelain vessels and sculpture by Eve Behar, Lynn Charveriat, Eva Cocco, Chris Fanjul, Beverly Granger, Lori Larsen, Alessandra Novak and Nancy Robbins. The show remains on view through May 15. La Maisonette is located at 133 Main Street, Sag Harbor, NY 11963. ROMANY KRAMORIS GALLERY - “The 3rd Annual Spring Flower Show” opens April 10 and has a Reception on April 13 from 3 to 5 p.m. The exhibition remains on view through May 8. The show features floral inspired paintings as well as pottery and blown glass. Participating artists include Muriel Hanson Falborn, Arianne Emmerich, Laura Rozenberg, JoAnne Carter, Maria Orlova, Coco Pekelis, Joyce Brian, Taffi Laing, and Richard Udice. WATERMILL

CLAY ART GUILD & CLAY ART STUDIOS - “Open House” takes place on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. The event includes a pottery demonstration and a student exhibit. The studios are located 41 Old Mill Road, Water Mill, NY 11976. www.hamptonsclayart.org

PARRISH ART MUSEUM - “Salon Series: Daria Rabotkina” takes place on Friday at 6 p.m. The pianist will perform works by Baroque composers Francois Couperin and J.S. Bach and Impressionists Maurice Ravel and Sergey Rabotkin. Tickets are $20, $10 for members.

“Architectural Sessions: Five Minutes Max” takes place on Saturday at noon. Twelve members of AIA Peconic will give five minute presentations. Tickets are $10, free for members, students, children, and with museum admission.

WATERMILL CENTER – ART CRITIC & AUTHOR TALK – “My Golden Age in Hell: Covering the ’80s East Village: A conversation with Cynthia Carr” takes place tonight (Thursday) at 6:30 p.m. Carr will share her experience of covering the 80′s club performance art scene and two ordeal art pieces: Linda Montano and Tehching Hsieh’s year tied together with an eight-foot rope plus Marina Abramovic and Ulay’s walk across the Great Wall of China. SARA NIGHTINGALE GALLERY – “#Blinddates/ MusicLab edition #4″ takes place tonight (Thursday) from 6 to 8 p.m. Features three musician friends who met in Brooklyn. Performing improvisional music are Ryan Messina, Will Jhurn and Nick Lyons. Free.
