EAST END, NY-

It seems impossible to escape the snow lately but even sleet, slush and piles of the white stuff won't stop art on the East End. This week brings a strong showing of new art exhibitions, live music, author readings and other events. Following is this week's list of where to find art and culture this weekend and beyond.

EAST END – “WINTERFEST: LIVE ON THE VINE” continues its series of live music this weekend. The music festival features over 100 concerts held at multiple venues across the North Fork and Riverhead through March 16. The majority are held at wineries on the North Fork. Admission is $20 per concert or with a “Festival Hopper” passes. Festival Day Pass is $30, a Weekend Pass is $50 and a Festival Pass is $200. Music includes blues, soul, rock and country. EAST HAMPTON/SPRINGS 

ASHAWAGH HALL -Winter of Content” Art Show has an Opening Reception on Saturday from 4 to 8 p.m. The show is on view from Saturday through Monday. The exhibition features the works of Kirsten Benfield, Rich Mothes, Jennifer Satinsky and Jerry Schwabe.

The exhibition is open on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.; on Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and on Monday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Ashawagh Hall is located at 780 Springs-Fireplace Road, East Hampton, NY 11937.

GUILD HALL - “WINTER FILM SERIES" screens Found Memories on Sunday at 4:30 p.m. Brazil, Argentina and France, 2011. Portuguese with English Subtitled. 98 minutes. Directed by Julia Murat.

Clinging to the image of her dead husband and living in her memories, Madalena is awakened by the arrival of Rita, a young photographer who is arriving in the ghost village of Jotuomba where time seems to have stopped. The two women forge a deep relationship, which gradually builds to have a profound effect on both of their lives, as well as the rest of the villagers.

QUOGUE

QUOGUE LIBRARY – “Natural Elements: Landscape Oils by Mary Laspia” has an Artist’s Reception on Saturday from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. The exhibition remains on view through Feb. 26. Laspia will present landscape paintings of the Eastern End of Long Island.  The gallery at the Quogue Library is located at 90 Quogue Street, Quogue, NY 11959. www.quoguelibrary.org.

RIVERHEAD

MARTHA CLARA VINEYARDS – “Winter Jazz Series: Valentine’s Day Concert” will take place on Friday at 7:30 p.m. Doors open at 7 p.m. The concert features Afro-Latin Jazz Band Hands in Motion. Admission is $20 in advance, $25 at the door, and includes a glass of wine. The four-piece band will perform Afro/Caribbean music, mambo instrumentals and jazz. EAST END ARTS GALLERY - ARTISAN SHOWCASE - Linocut Artist Debbie Tierney kicks off a new program presented by East End Arts. SAG HARBOR

STONY BROOK SOUTHAMPTON - WRITERS SPEAK WEDNESDAYS - "A Reading by The Fall 2014 Creative Writing Faculty" at 7 p.m. A reception precedes the reading at 6:30 p.m. Features Ursula Hegi, Susan Scarf Merrell, Robert Reeves, Roger Rosenblatt, Julie Sheehan and Lou Ann Walker. WATER MILL

“9th Annual Love and Passion: Walk on the Wild Side” - Presented at HAMPTON HANG GALLERY and SARA NIGHTINGALE GALLERY in conjunction with Karyn Mannix Contemporary. PARRISH ART MUSEUM - “The Lounge Series: Sophia Bastian” takes place on Friday at 6 p.m. Admission is $10 or free for members and students. Sophia Bastian’s contemporary music blends soul, jazz, blues, and hip-hop. Reservations are recommended. “The Lounge” is a new music series in which musicians perform in a cozy, living room-like setting with refreshments.
