EAST END, NY-

Music and film festivals are on tap for this weekend. So are new and continuing art exhibitions. While the Heckscher Art Museum lies beyond the East End, Hamptons sculptor Elizabeth Strong-Cuevas gives a talk there on Friday night. Here's this week's list of where to find art and culture on the East End.

EAST HAMPTON/SPRINGS 

GUILD HALL - “10th Annual Free Winter Film Series": Teddy Bear will screen on Sunday at 4:30 p.m. The film is directed by Mads Matthiesen. Admission is free. Guild Hall is located at 158 Main Street, East Hampton, NY 11937. www.guildhall.org.

THE DRAWING ROOM - Christine Hiebert” and “Diane Mayo” have an Opening Reception on Saturday from 5 to 7 p.m. The exhibitions remain on view through March 10. Hiebert will exhibit ten drawings and Mayo will exhibit ceramic sculpture. The gallery is located at 66H Newtown Lane, East Hampton, NY 11937. www.drawingroom-gallery.com.

VERED GALLERY - "COLLECTORS CHOICE" has been extended through Feb. 3. Exhibit includes paintings by Contemporary and Modernist artists. Modernist include Milton Avery, Willem De Kooning, John Graham, Marsden Hartley, Man Ray, George Bellows, Charles Burchfield; Contemporaries Hunt Slonem, Ray Caesar, Adam Handler, Adam Miller, Bert Stern. QUOGUE

QUOGUE LIBRARY –  “Dreams” by Gail Miro has an Artist’s Reception on Saturday from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. Miro will exhibit works in Acrylic, oil, and pencil on paper. The library is located at 90 Quogue Street, Quogue, NY 11959. www.quoguelibrary.org.

RIVERHEAD

EAST END ARTS - “Winterfest Kickoff Party” takes place on Friday from 6 to 9:30 p.m. at the Suffolk Theater. The event includes live music by Gene Casey and the Lone Sharks, Bakithi Kumalo, and Mambo Loco. Tickets are $20 in advance, $25 at the door. The Suffolk Theater is located at 118 E Main Street, Riverhead, NY 11901. www.suffolktheater.com.

Winterfest (also known as Live on the Vine Long Island Winterfest) is a six-week music festival presented in various venues on the East End (vineyard tasting rooms, hotels, theaters, etc). The 7th annual music festival will run from Feb. 8 through March 16. www.liwinterfest.com.

SAG HARBOR

BAY STREET THEATRE - “Fireside Session with Nancy Atlas and Danny Keane” takes place on Friday at 8 p.m. Tickets for the musical performance are $15. The series continues every Friday in January and February. The theater is located at 1 Bay Street, Sag Harbor, NY 11963. www.baystreet.org.

WATERMILL

PARRISH ART MUSEUM – GUIDED TOURS of the Permanent Collection will be held on Saturdays, Sundays and Wednesdays from 2 to 3 p.m. The tours are led by docents. The Parrish Art Museum is located at 279 Montauk Hwy., Water Mill, NY 11976. www.parrishart.org.

HUNTINGTON

HECKSCHER ART MUSEUM - “VOICES & VISIONS” on Friday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Elizabeth Strong-Cueves explores her life, work, and creative process. Her sculpture Jazz, Lightning I is currently on view in the museum’s exhibition “Off the Wall: Sculpture from the Permanent Collection.” Admission is $10 for museum members and $15 for non-members.
