Labor Day weekend is upon us and brings the last hurrah of the summer. Art is plentiful and there are new exhibitions opening plus music, dance, an artist book talk  and art benefits to consider. Here's where to find art in the Hamptons and on the North Fork this weekend. Enjoy!

AMAGANSETT 

CRAZY MONKEY GALLERY - “Barbara Bilotta” opens today (Thursday) and has an Opening Reception on Saturday from 5 to 7 p.m. The exhibition remains on view through Sept. 29. ILLE ARTS GALLERY - “Geography: Three Solos on Place” by Ian Spencer Bell takes place on Sunday at 6:30 p.m. The dance performance is followed by a Reception at 7 p.m. The gallery is located at 216a Main Street, Amagansett, NY 11930. www.illearts.com.

KARMA - “Sebastian Black: The Elements of Style” opens Saturday. The exhibition remains on view through Sept. 16. The gallery is located at 249 Main Street, Amagansett, NY 11930. www.karmakarma.org

NEOTERIC FINE ART - “THE MOBY PROJECT” has a benefit on Saturday from 6 to 10 p.m. There will be art, live music, beer, a BBQ, and a silent auction. Admission is $20. THE MOBY PROJECT is a new multi-venue/multi-discipline cultural event project held in October that will present works by artists, writers, and performers in the Hamptons. BRIDGEHAMPTON

PETER MARCELLE GALLERY - “Between Realities” has an Opening Reception on Saturday from 6 to 8 p.m. The exhibition remains on view through Sept. 15. The show presents works by Andrew Wyeth, Jamie Wyeth, John Koch, Luigi Lucioni, Marc Sijan, Caleb Carter, Brensa Zlamany, Anna Jurinich, Scott McIntire, Bo Bartlett, Miriam Dougenis, Win Zibeon, and others. EAST HAMPTON/SPRINGS 

ASHAWAGH HALL - "Casual Pursuits: New works and works in process by ceramicst Bob Bachler and painter James Kennedy" has an Opening Reception on Saturday from 5 to 7 p.m. The show is on view on Saturday, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., on Sunday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Monday, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Ashawagh Hall is located at 780 Springs Fireplace Rd, Springs, NY 11937. www.ashawagh-hall.org.

BOOKHAMPTON - Clifford Ross & Orville Schell have a Discussion and Book Signing on Sunday from 5 to 7 p.m. Ross, a New York based multimedia artist, will be signing his recent book, “Through the Looking Glass.” Schell, a journalist and cultural historian, will sign his book “Wealth and Power,” co-written by John Delury. LAUREL HOLLOW (North Fork)

CEDAR KNOLL SHOWHOUSE - Design House Opening takes place on Friday. The mansion Show House, built in 1930, includes elements of the past, such as a basement speakeasy, as well as the work of contemporary artists and designers including Eileen Serwer. RIVERHEAD

EAST END ARTS at RIVERHEAD TOWN HALL - “Land & Sea” by George Camalich opens on Tuesday (Sept. 3). The exhibition remains on view through Dec. 3. Riverhead Town Hall is located at 200 Howell Avenue, Riverhead, NY 11901. www.eastendarts.org.

SAG HARBOR

SAG HARBOR FINE ARTS CENTER - “Art Instinct” has an Opening Reception on Saturday from 6 to 8 p.m. The exhibition serves as a fundraiser for the Sag Harbor Fine Art Center and its artists. Participating artists include James Daga Albinson, Kerry Dunn, Ben Fenske, Melissa Franklin-Sanchez, Karen Kaapcke, Ramiro, Tony Ryder, Johanna Schwaiger, and Nick Weber. SOUTHAMPTON

4 NORTH MAIN GALLERY - "Endless Summer" - Recent paintings by Susan Cushing opens on Friday and has an Opening Reception on Sunday from 5 to 7 p.m. The exhibition continues through Sept. 8. The gallery is located at 4 North Main Street, Southampton, NY 11968. www.4northmaingallery.com.

WATERMILL

HAMPTON HANG GALLERY - “Stand Up” by Charlotte Filbert has an Opening Reception on Saturday from 6 to 8 p.m. The exhibition remains on view through Sept. 19.  Filbert will exhibit paintings and installations that challenge the viewer to acknowledge and work towards improvement in social and environmental issues. PARRISH ART MUSEUM - “Jazz en Plein Air: Hendrick Meurkens Samba Jazz Quartet” takes place on Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. The performance is free with museum admission. This is the final installment of Jazz en Plein Air. The museum is located at 279 Montauk Hwy, Water Mill, NY 11976. www.parrishart.org.
