BRIDGEHAMPTON, NY-

artMRKT Hamptons opens its third edition tonight with a pair of parties beneath a temporary structure installed at the Bridgehampton Historical Society's grounds. The fair launches with a benefit for LongHouse Reserve held from 6 to 7 p.m. The Opening Night Party will be held from 7 to 10 p.m. It is hosted and curated by Norwood, a private arts club in New York City. The Opening Night Party features live music and complimentary drinks, courtesy of Absolut. A Preview Pass for $50 gains admittance to both.

artMRKT Hamptons opens to the public on Friday and continues through Sunday. The hours are 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday. Tickets are $20 for a single day pass and $35 for a multi-day pass.

The 2013 edition presents 40 galleries presenting contemporary and modern art. All of the galleries are based in the United States. The art fair is designed to remain intimate with galleries vetted. The artMRKT concept is to create an environment where art can be easily and comfortably viewed. This year's fair will feature an upgraded facility with 12-foot walls, wide and continuous aisles and an integrated climate control system.

Geographically, exhibitors are divided equally between the Hamptons, New York City and those nationally-based.

With 13 galleries from the Hamptons, attending artMRKT Hamptons may be the fastest way to gallery hop across Hamptons. Walking around the and become acquainted with galleries in Southampton to Amagansett.

The entrance to artMRKT Hamptons will feature eight installations presented by six galleries.
