DISPATCH - OCT 5, 2012 (6:55 a.m.)

HAMPTONS & NORTH FORK, NY

A flurry of new art exhibitions arrive in the Hamptons, just in time for the Hamptons International Film Festival taking place from Oct 4 to 8 at venues from Westhampton to East Hampton, NY.

A "rival" film-arts-music festival opens tonight in Amagansett at Neoteric Fine Art. The first-time festival is geared to draw attention to the creative talents of those who call the East End home.

Another mini-film event takes place in Bridgehampton tomorrow at 8 p.m. at "The Bridge." The one-hour screening presents three shorts by area directors. This includes "Ultra Violet for Sixteen Minutes" directed by David Henry Gerson. The docu-portrait focuses on Ultra Violet, artist, mistress to Salvador Dali and muse for Andy Warhol's The Factory.
