HAMPTONS & NORTH FORK, NY

It's a busy weekend for art openings in the Hamptons. Here's this week's list of new art openings in the Hamptons.

AMAGANSETT 

ILLE ARTS GALLERY - “RAW” has an opening reception on Saturday from 6 to 8 p.m. The group show features artists Andrew Guenther, José Lerma, Liz Markus and Wendy White. The show was curated by Liz Markus. The exhibition runs through Oct 13. The gallery is located at 216a Main Street, Amagansett, NY. www.illearts.com.

KARMA - “No More Chinotto Forever, Again...” by Bjarne Melgaard has an opening reception on Saturday from 4 to 7 p.m. The artist will also sign his book Baton Sinister during the opening. The show runs through Sept 27. The gallery is located at 249 Main Street, Amagansett, NY.

The book published to coincide with Melgaard's participation in the 2011 Venice Biennale. The artist book documents his time in Venice as lecturing professor and the Palazzo Contarini Corfù installation staged by Melgaard and his students. www.karmakarma.org

BRIDGEHAMPTON

PETER MARCELLE GALLERY - "Recent work by Stephen Schaub"
has an opening reception on Saturday from 6 to 8 p.m. The exhibition remains on view through Sept 25. The gallery is located at 2411 Main St, Bridgehampton, NY. www.petermarcellegallery.com

PIERRE’S RESTAURANT - “Solo show by Bobbie Braun” has an opening reception on Saturday from 3 to 6 p.m. The artist will exhibit oil portraits on canvas. The show runs through Oct 3. The restaurant is located at 2468 Main Street, Bridgehampton, NY.

EAST HAMPTON/SPRINGS 

ASHAWAGH HALL - “Group Show” has an opening on Saturday from 5 to 9 p.m. Exhibiting artists are Chick Bills, Marcie Honerkamp, Dennis Lawrence, and Christine Lidrbauch. The show runs through Sept 17. The exhibit is open daily from noon to 5. Ashawagh Hall is located at 780 Springs Fireplace Rd, Springs, NY.   www.ashawagh-hall.org

MONTAUK

OUTEAST GALLERY - “WET” has an opening reception on Saturday from 7 to 10 p.m. The show features photographs by James Katsipis and Luiza De Morales Campos. The gallery is located at 65 Tuthill Road, Montauk, NY. www.outeastmontauk.blogspot.com.

NEW SUFFOLK 

GALLERY HO - “NFxNF Art Show” (North Fork by North Fork Artists) has a closing reception on Saturday from 5 to 7 p.m. The show runs through Sept 16. The pop-up gallery is located on the waterfront at New Suffolk Ave and First Street, New Suffolk, NY. The exhibition is open weekends from noon to 7 p.m. A portion of artwork sales benefits the New Suffolk Waterfront Fund. Donations are appreciated. www.newsuffolkwaterfront.org.

RIVERHEAD

SAG HARBOR

RICHARD J. SOUTHAMPTON

SOUTHAMPTON CULTURAL CENTER -"2012 Juried Art Exhibition" has an opening reception on Saturday from 4 to 6 p.m. Best in Show was awarded to Ronnie Cramer. Honorable Mentions went to Justin Ankenbauer, Linda Capello and Harriet Livathinos. The show remains on view through Oct 7. WATERMILL

CELADON GALLERY - “Raku Festival” has a brunch reception on Sunday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The festival will feature demonstrations and an exhibition. Festivities run through Oct 14.  The gallery is located 41 Old Mill Road, Water Mill, NY. www.hamptonsclayart.org
