It's no surprise the upcoming week is packed with art events, exhibition openings and art exhibition benefits. Here's a list of art options for the week:

BRIDGEHAMPTON

GALLERY VALENTINE PROJECT SPACE- “Bloom” has an artist opening on Thursday (Aug 2) from 5 to 8 p.m. The show opens today and runs through Sept 7. The exhibition was curated by Todd Hutchenson. The gallery is located at 2415 Main St, Bridgehampton, NY. www.galleryvalentine.com. THREE TO SEE pic.

EAST HAMPTON/SPRINGS 

GUILD HALL - "ESCAPE: VIDEO ART" - FINAL WEEKEND.

This is the first museum exhibition on Long Island to focus exclusively on Video Art. Exhibiting artists include Laurie Anderson, Burt Barr, Lynda Benglis, Jonathan Horowitz, Joan Jonas, Tony Oursler and Constance DeJong, Keith Sonnier, Andy Warhol, William Wegman and more.

Co-curated by Lauren Cornell, Executive Director of Rhizome and Adjunct Curator at the New Museum, and Hanne Mugaas, Independent Curator. The final day of the exhibition is Sunday. The museum is open until 5 p.m. Guild Hall is located at 158 Main St, East Hampton, NY. www.guildhall.org

ASHAWAGH HALL - “45th Artists of the Springs Invitational - Ashawagh Honors” has a benefit preview and wine reception on Thursday (Aug 2) from 5 to 7 p.m. The reception honors Rae Ferren, Connie Fox, and Bill King. A $25.00 donation is requested and is payable at the door. Benefit proceeds plus fifty percent of artwork sales benefits the Springs Improvement Society, Ashawagh Hall, and the S.I.S. ERIC FIRESTONE GALLERY - “Celestial Bodies” has a one-day only show on Sat from noon to 6 p.m. Minerals, amulets, works on paper and more will be presented. THE FIREPLACE PROJECT - “Pollock-Krasner Lecture Series 2012” begins on Sunday with Arnold Chang’s Lecture, “Reorienting Pollock.” The lecture starts at 5 p.m. Admission is $5 at the door. SAG HARBOR

ARTHUR T. KALAHER FINE ART - “Solo show by Joe Chierchio” remains on view through Monday (July 30). The exhibition is part of "The Artists Series" which presents one-week shows by artists connected to the area. An opening was held last night (July 26). SOUTHAMPTON

ART SOUTHAMPTON - The art fair opens today and is presented through Monday (July 30) at the Southampton Elks Lodge fairgrounds, 605 County Road 39, Southampton, NY. MADELLE HEGELER SEMERJIAN GALLERY - “Reflections - Photographs by Danielle Leef” has an opening reception on Thursday (Aug 2) from 4 to 6 p.m. The gallery is located at the Rogers Memorial Library, 91 Coopers Farm Rd, Southampton, NY. www.myrml.org

WATER MILL

"THE BIG BANG" - The 19th Annual Watermill Center Summer Benefit. The benefit features the opening of the tribute exhibition "Mike Kelley: 1954 - 2012." Presented in collaboration with LUMA Foundation. The show is curated by Harald Falckenberg. It remains on view at The Watermill Center through Sept 16, 2012.

The benefit features installations of commissioned works curated by Noah Khoshbin and Dmistry Komis. Contributing artists include Misaki Kawai, Wang Qingsong, Kembra Pfahler and the Voluptuous Horror of Karen Black, Desi Santiago, Lucien Smith, ATOPOS, Paul McCarthy, Paula Garcia, Masanao Hirayama, Carol Ross plus collaborative projects by Watermill Center summer residency participants. Tickets for Cocktails are $500. The benefit begins at 6 p.m. at Watermill Center, 39 Water Mill Towd Road, Water Mill, NY.
