HAMPTONS & NORTH FORK, NY.

This weekend brings art openings, art auctions, a studio tour, a clay art festival, a gallery walk plus three pop-up galleries to the Hamptons. New to the Hamptons art scene are pop up galleries QF Gallery in East Hampton, Neoteric Fine Art in Amagansett, and LOOC Art in Southampton.

Here's this week's round up of art happenings:

AMAGANSETT

CRAZY MONKEY GALLERY - “Group Show Featuring Cynthia Sobel and Catherine B. Silver” has an opening on Sat from 5 to 7 p.m. The exhibit will run through Jul 16. Also on view are works by gallery artists Andrea McCafferty, Jim Hayden, June Kaplan, Lance Corey, Cathy Hunter, and Diane Marxe plus guest artist Anna Falcolane. NEOTERIC FINE ART - "LIFE" launches the pop-up gallery with an opening on Sat from 5 to 8 p.m. The reception includes a poetry reading by Malik Solomon and musical performances by Dan Asselin (aka San Joaquin) and Jody Gambino.

The group show features emerging local artists Jillian Aldrich, Scott Bluedorn, Rory Evenson-Phair, Hailey Kohlus, Martine Langatta, Christian Little, Diana Lives, Charles Ly, Kristin Miller, and Kate Petrone. SYLVESTER & CO - “Kronicler: The Things That You See When You’re Looking” has an opening on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. Art sales benefit the Child Mind Institute. The exhibition runs through Aug 11. The gallery is located at 154 Main St, Amagansett, NY. www.sylvesterathome.com. THREE TO SEE pic.

BRIDGEHAMPTON

CLAY ART GUILD OF THE HAMPTONS - “The Potter’s Art: A Clay Festival” takes place on Sat from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m, rain or shine, at Hamptons Institute. Admission is free. The festival features a selection of handmade pottery, children’s activities, and pottery demonstrations. Hampton Archives is east of Montauk Highway and Ocean Road in Bridgehampton, NY. www.hamptonsclayart.org

QUEEN OF THE MOST HOLY ROSARY - “25th Annual Art Auction” will be held on July 7. A gala preview begins at 6 p.m. The auction begins at 7:30 p.m. Donation is $40 per person. Artist works include  Terry Elkins, Ralph Carpentier, James Daga Albinson, Jerry Schwabe, Eileen Dawn Stretch, Lewis Zachs, Ted Asnis, Sally Breen and others.

EAST HAMPTON AND SPRINGS 

ARTIST’S ALLIANCE OF EAST HAMPTON - “27th Annual Summer Studio Tour” and "18th Annual Members Exhibit" happens this weekend. The studio tour is being held today and Sat. The tour is self-guided. Studios are located in East Hampton, Springs, Watermill, Bridgehampton, and Sag Harbor. Tickets are $40 for two. The Members Exhibition opens tonight with a reception from 5 to 8 p.m. at Ashawagh Hall. The show remains on view through July 15. Ashawagh Hall is located at 780 Springs Fireplace Road, Springs, NY.

ARTWALK HAMPTONS holds its first gallery walk on Sat from 5 to 8 p.m. Guided Tours begin at 5 p.m. at Sotheby’s International Realty, 6 Main Street in East Hamptons. The fee is $45. COMMUNITY ARTS PROJECT - "THE BUSINESS OF ART BY JANE MARTIN - PART THREE - PROMOTING YOURSELF" takes place on Monday from 5 - 7 p.m. at the Springs Presbyterian Church. The guest speaker is Esperanza Leon of Solar Gallery. The fee is $40. No RSVP is necessary. Springs Presbyterian Church is located at 5 Old Stone Highway, Springs, NY.

POLLOCK-KRASNER HOUSE AND STUDY CENTER- “The Persistence of Pollock” has a curator talk and reception on Sun from 5 to 7 p.m. Admission is free. The group exhibition runs through Jul 28. QF GALLERY - "WEARWITHALL" launches the pop up gallery with a reception on Saturday from 6 to 8 p.m. The group show includes work by Yoichiri Yoda, Trong Nguyen, Dana Gluck, Jamie Knowles and more. VERED GALLERY - "14TH ANNUAL JULY ART AUCTION" has its Last Bid Party from 5 to 7 p.m. Bidding closes prompting at 7 p.m. The art, bidding registration, and information can be found at www.veredart.com. The gallery is located at 68 Park Place, East Hampton, NY.

GREENPORT

SOUTH STREET GALLERY - "EMERGE LONG ISLAND'S FIRST ANNUAL JURIED ART SHOW" opens on Sat with a reception from 6 to 8 p.m. The group show includes art by John Cino, Jessica McAvoy, Scott McIntire, Sarah Jaffe Turnbull and others.
